Who's got what done to there GR Yaris I'd be intrested know along with who did it.

Oh absolutely, but the cost is huge for that peace of mind.There are some really interesting findings emerging from those brave folks running bigger turbos on 100% stock motors. The implications of which point to many of the common issues introduced (e.g. big hits of torque and exhaust side pressure) are simply symptoms of 'maxing out' the stock turbo. Damaged clutches and gearboxes from peak torque at 2.5k rpm and floating valves from massive exhaust back pressure go away with a higher flowing turbine spooling later.
This is my point, a totally different tuning approach for the Yaris at much lower cost to get to the same 300 wheel horse power as a maxed out OEM turbo on standalone ECU, could just be, big turbo on Ecutek at conservative boost!Oh absolutely, but the cost is huge for that peace of mind.
Personally, I wouldn't want to run the stock turbo near its maximum but I get why people do.
Not to mention a sequential's service requirements.Well all-out is about 1000 HP. Big Garrett turbo, no boost under 5000rpm, sequential transmission to start with.

Or you can tune to 360 HP on the stock turbo and have a very capable daily/track combo.
It all depends what you're after, how far you're willing to go, the sacrifices you can live with and budget.
Yeah, most people stick with the factory turbo which maxes out at around 350 hp (flywheel![]()
) but even mild mods to get north of 300 hp results in a completely different animal to the stock car despite the relatively modest hike in power. I sometimes switch back to the factory map and think "is that it?!" despite being happy with it at the time
Changing the turbo is a huge step-up in expense as it really needs an aftermarket ECU and a few other mods (valve springs, cams, injectors etc.) to unlock the extra power it can bring.
There are a few brave souls who have done that though, although I often see the same thing that happens whenever people chase big numbers with cars; they get bored and sell on, or it becomes so hardcore it rarely gets used or pretty much turns into a track-only thing.

worth adding transfer case and gearbox + clutch to your list, if you ever use that power -> driveline will say hello!Im looking at a fordged bottom end, piston and rods, top end cam, springs, head studs etc. G30-770 Turbo, flex fuel, Motec or Link ect ect im hopping for 500kw at the wheels
