My cars at the body shop to fit a HT Autos front splitter and they have just called to say that do fit it properly the bumper will really need to come off as it’s quite gappy.

For anyone who has fitted one what was your experience?

Have you contacted Mark @HTAutos directly, who is also on the forum?

It can be fitted without removing the bumper but some cuts in the plastic shroud will have to be made (cannot be seen from outside) to use the bolts for a secure fit.

Not sure what your bodyshops means by 'gappy' but mine is snug as a rug.

This I think is a better install video with the cutting of the internal bumper tray/strengthener. I cut mine like this install.

That music is so annoying though. :p

If I remember HT autos commented on this video, you want to read their comments as they clarified something about the install. If I recall, the screws are screwed from the top rather than the bottom, but better to read the comment than trust my memory.

Too late for that, I fitted mine ages ago!

You can always give it ago. Surprising how many people tape the duck tails on thinking it’s some sort of magical tape that will hold anything on.
Expect it to go flying under your car though.
I'd not stick on the splitter like @GRMatt74 suggested, and I was one of the people who has the spoiler stuck on.
Completely different forces means the use cases are not comparable.

I actually wasn’t. It’s amazing how many people think VHB is able to hold anything on at speed.
I work in F1 and have seen tests with that tape. It holds to a certain speed and then lets go very quickly. This changes a lot when you decrease or increase the ambient temperature. Just hearing people that have decided to just tape a spoiler on and ignoring Toyotas advice not to bolt it on too just annoys me. It could be mine or my wife’s car windscreen it goes flying off into. Unless you have a degree in stress analysis then you shouldn’t be making decisions like that.

Sorry for the rant.
