great work Ben et al! I'll be up soon for bits :)

The top comment on this video is brutal.

"How much did you charge them to work on the Yaris?"

Love the vid and love String Theory. I need an Alcantara wheel.
I used to like his vids but after the Litchfield moment I couldn’t watch them anymore as considered them to be biased based on money changing hands. (No different to most motoring journalism I’m led to believe).

I might make an exception to this as really liking what string theory are doing.

Yeah, this is probably only the third or fourth video of his I’ve ever watched all the way through.

Not for me, but he comes across well enough here, Litchfield nonsense notwithstanding.

I enjoyed that. JJW guy reminds me a lot of Alan Partridge, even before he said ‘Evolution, not revolution’. Or whatever. 😂

Yeah people really love to ask that, the Litchfield thing from the sounds of things was an over zealous person at the production company and Litchfield taking offence, theyre well within their rights as a very well established company with a well known name. We haven't addressed it on YT or in Comments as is isn't really anyone else's business how we do marketing.

What i will say is, we have not paid him for these videos. He's a very nice guy and i think people get hung up on a version of someone in their head without ever meeting them.

The relationship has been great for us, we've essentially got 2-3 adverts and a good year+ of stuff we can use for marketing and got to have a fun couple of days. If we had gone out and paid someone to make videos as nice as these for us it would have cost a lot of money.

Also, if anyone thinks that your favourite youtuber isn't getting paid then you're mad. There is a direct relationship between them talking about a product and the product selling. There are plenty of companies out there paying ££££ for "Influencers" to fit their bits to their cars.

We're lucky that we arnt trying to upsale a rubbish product and make it look fancy when it isn't, as you can see from the video you get the service you get when you come here, Ben wanting to make your car better using the best stuff for the car.

The feedback has been great and we have had plenty of new customers come to us off the back, which will allow us to grow and bring new products to market for everyone!

Cheers Everyone!
Fraser

This is not aimed at you guys but the problem with all these “influencers” is making it clear that it’s an ad (money has changed hands) or sponsorship (free items/services).

Even if you said he needs to pay but you’ll fit for free, under the competition and markets authority (CMA) guidance it is considered sponsorship and requires the video to clearly mention it’s an ad which this doesn’t. (Obviously might not apply here).

But seems the bodies that oversee this seem to be far more hot on the matter if it’s on Instagram and seem to ignore YouTube.

Sorry for going off topic there.

Great vid, all you need to do now is put up your GR Yaris poster in the workshop. ;)
