I'm now approaching 5,000 miles and I'm certain that, very recently, my car has started to feel noticeably quicker.

This is all subjective and not validated empirically in any way by timing acceleration or anything like that; someone on here recently used the excellent term "butt dyno" which I think captures the extent of my methodological approach!

The car is - in my opinion - revving far more freely now and reaching the red line more quickly.

I remember in my old GT86 feeling something similar, but this was only after about 10k miles and was nowhere near as pronounced an improvement.

I'd be very interested to hear others' views. For reference, my car has only ever been run on either V-Power or the Tesco super unleaded of which the name escapes me. My car is totally standard apart from the legendary suit hanging solution.

Perhaps you've just recently bought some heavier shoes?
Just for the right foot.

Believe, freer reving, easier to send it on quicker… Same (more mileage is better) applies to new bike engines. My new Yamaha’s all way better nicer reving after 10000 miles. GR liked my 1200 mile old change too. So, yes getting run in and first few thousand miles clocked up definitely better!

It definitely revs freer past 3k than it did when I first got it. The second oil change (after doing it at 2k) I noticed it more again. But also you'll learn the car more too over time, especially if daily driven. Subconsciously you trust it more and throttle on more where you may have hesitated before

Mine is definitely 💯❤️

7200 miles in
Only VPower
2 oil changes (replaced OEM oil for better grade)
Heavy right foot
#no fear 😎🤣

Recent Isle of Man trip, including the drive up to Liverpool and back from London, was awesome 👌
