Has any publication actually put the GR86 on a set of scales?

I know the manufacturer specs say something like 1275kg kerb weight (MT), but looking at the emissions certificate, mine's listed as 1436kg tested mass. Unless they were trying for a 'how many passengers can we fit in a GR86' record, that's quite a lot more, especially given how skimpy they were with fuel in the tank on handover! (A reminder, kerb weight is meant to be including liquids but no people, while tested mass will probably include a tester).

It was also the only car on test from memory to be within a couple of kilos of the manufacturer claim!

EVO magazine weighed the GR86 at 1,280 kg and worked out they had 37.5 kg of fuel, giving a 'calculated' figure of 1,242.5 kg. Impressive.

The official standard for DIN kerb weight is the car with a fuel tank at least 90% full. If my maths is correct, and Evo weighed the car accurately with a completely full tank, then a 5kg difference (using 0.75 as the specific gravity for fuel) means that the car would weigh 1275kg with 43.5 litres in it...87% full.

Allowing for inaccuracies between weighing methods and knowing exactly how much is in the tank, I think we can give Toyota the benefit of the doubt and say their claimed weight is pretty much spot on and honest.

Which means the tester for the emissions certificate is a 161Kg monster. Do you really want to argue with him? :D

Found another data point - 1312kg (before mods, 1/3rd tank fuel, Misha estimated 1350 on full tank). Also 56:44 F:R distribution.
