Not sure if this has been asked before, but now that quite a few have had their car for over a year, how long do you intend keeping your GR?
Despite driving for 35 years, I’ve only owned 7 cars in all that time, 3 of which I still own! I’ve had my Z4 2.5si for 16 years, not that I use it much these days, I think my GR86 is a keeper too.

15+ years.

I've also been driving for 35 years, and the GR86 is my 5th car (and the 4th was really the wife's and we still own it).

3 of which I still own!
That's good going.

Planning to keep mine until I can't get out of it!

Given the powers that be seem hell bent on getting us all out of personal transport, and most vigour being deployed against IC powered vehicles that may be the deciding factor.

I’m in the “until I’m too mobility limited to get in and out” with a caveat of assuming use on the public road hasn’t been legislated out of existence/made financially unviable.

Good points, well made.

I will be expecting either taxation, insurance or ridiculous fuel costs will be what twists my arm out of it. IC will eventually been confined to the rich.

I tend to keep mine around 10 yrs, though possibly a bit longer with the GR if the alternatives look dire at the time.

That’s the main reason my Z4 is garaged most of the year, £400 road tax is too much for just the occasional drive. We’re going down to Menton in it in June and then it will probably be SORN’d again. It is cheap to insure now though so I guess it’s swings and roundabouts.

Will see. Gonna enjoy it and slightly mod it. It's a second car for fun for me. As long as I still enjoy it, it will stay in the family 😎 So far I love it ! 👌💯

Struggling with this a bit at the moment. Think i've only used mine 4 times in the last 5 months. Need to get out in it more or I expect I'll move it on in the summer.

Had 10 cars in the last 7 years, all bought as "keepers" :ROFLMAO:

This is only my second car owned outright, and outside of any major life event it's mine for the long haul.

Such a fun and rewarding car to drive, I suspect my itch to get modding will get scratched by the end of the year too..!

Ah you’re an “ashtray full/washer bottle empty” kind of chap! 😅 I have mates with a similar disposition.

I plan on just keeping mine, although I'll likely end up getting another car in a few years and sharing the miles over the both of them. I don't have much interest in what is coming and it isn't just the electric car element, it's the extra safety functions, buzzers, driverless tech and generally the taking away of the mechanical interaction that I'm not interested in. So the GR86 will stay and may be joined by a convertible or GR Yaris.

I was in Menton last week and going back in June as well. Only GR I saw was a Black Supra, they love a 595 Abarth out there. If parking in town the new underground car park is safe and spacious. :)
