There is a Trip Reset button beside the instrument cluster, though I am not sure it applies to "Total" figures.

Would they have needed to disconnect the battery at all, to dismantle anything? Not sure if that resets the counter.

I don't think PPF need to disconnect the battery...
I wondered if maybe they removed the light clusters or something to get behind them, but even then yeah I agree it would be a be much.

But a moot point anyway if the counters don't reset with power loss.

They told me the battery ran flat because they had to keep the doors open during installation. Is that true?

but as you said disconnecting the battery doesn't reset the counters.

I could be wrong but I thought the interior light goes off after a certain time if you leave a door open, so there wouldn't be much of a drain from doing that.

That'll be the puddle lights then.

I would have thought they'd switch themselves off after a few minutes but maybe not.

I'd be concerned about that, they may have knackered your battery.
Maybe worth getting a battery test done, or connect your battery charger and see what the voltage reading is, should be around 14v.

There is the switch to turn the interior lights off on the roof by the mirror.

Seems a bit amateurish to me.
