GR Yaris Hello there

Managed to sell the ProTracks - as it is great wheel going to a route with narrower tires and wheels.
So wide Protrack Red's turn into white Braids in few weeks, with studded 205/50/17 tires. Should get still third narrow wheelset for slidey tires for three season fun.

Was thinking Weds 105X in 8.5J with 235 track tire for summer/track use but as car is not track weapon its likely an overkill. maybe some day..

14cm less tyre width in total and 4kg less weight. will be fun!

Weds TC105X in 8.5J with 235 track tire for summer/track :
That's what I have but I am pretty sure the Weds TC105X in 8J x 18" ET43 are wide enough, and a little lighter, but wrapped in 235/40/18 semi-slick tyres.
One thing is sure, the PS4S are really not adapted for track use (except if wet weather). The tyre wall is too soft.

Have been thinking what to do next. Things in plans for next few months
1) install LamSpeed oil pan baffles (set waiting in garage) - should help in oil pressure drops on track
2) upgrade Setrab Series1 25row to Setrab Series6 25row (should double the oil cooling capacity) - mitigating also oil pressure drop as cooler oil helps keeping the pressure up.
3) Fabricate or buy a skid plate for engine

the first two should address the track heat issues - thought also putting on a hood louvre but maybe test with those two how it works. as plan to keep the car outer skin more or less stock.. even though hood vents would look cool..

skid plate would be useful for winter driving in higher snow. of course could be useful for gravel adventures. it is bit uncertain if it realizes.
There is also ready skid plate available but I would maybe prefer slightly more robust solution (with chassis frame support) in the event of possible crash.

Control arms out. another was dropped in 1min, another got stuck and took longer time.
Quick job as soon as car is lifted..

Good to know it's a quick job, as for the Whiteline kit, Pumaspeed need 3 hours for fitting, as per the Workshop Fitting tab on https://pumaspeed.co.uk/product-Whi...---Caster-Bushing---Toyota-Yaris-GR_19783.jsp

However, for the Powerflex kit, the Workshop Fitting tab mentions just 0.5 hours on https://pumaspeed.co.uk/product-Pow...ush-Caster-Adjust---Toyota-GR-Yaris_20717.jsp

Perhaps they included time for alignment too in the case of the Whiteline kit. Or just a mistake. Another garage also quoted me for fitment and the price suggests an hour's labour.

Let us know how much added caster you got and what difference the kit made to understeer, especially if you didn't perform other geo changes at the same time.

If you went for the Whiteline kit and set it up for anti-lift, I would be interested to know if you can feel any difference that may bring.

with lift, adding the geo setting I'd say it's 1.5-2hr job.
Idea is to go with existing geo (camber, toe out), just add caster if available.
Hard to say if it will be noticeable during winter but I'm quite picky in terms of feel so let's see..
But best feedback on track next summer.

Installed whiteline anti lift caster bushes. In theory easy but managed to get passanger side control arm front bush nut loose inside(!) front subframe and fiddled at least 2 hrs in getting it back in its place. So - if you get someone doing the install with 2 HR labour Id say take it.

GR is nice bit of engineering but some parts could have made with easier access.

Not much time so have driven less but have been practicing the use of LFB in slow snowy driving and so far I am loving it!
Had to adjust the seating pos few cm's backwards as have customised myself to drive really close to steering wheel, but in this position there's no room for LFB.
But actually after few days of driving with more rearwards set seat feel it actually really good - the only downside is that there's no room behind driver now.
The way car can be set into corners with LFB is something new for me but feel it as a good challenge for driver skill for upcoming season.

Ordered 2ltr of transmission oil, and 4ltr of LSD oil in order to do the driveline maintenance at garage. with oils + syrenge cost 120€ so not really bad.
Plan to change transmission oil in 60k (have done every 10tkm so far so this would be little longer change interval, 20tkm), and LSD oils every 10tkm.

As transmission oil using genuine Toyota, but for rear and transfer ordered RAVENOL DGL SAE 75W-85 GL-5 LS 4 L - guess it should work ok.

Visited local ice track - really fun! Practiced LFB and it started coming automatically after few laps. really recommended for practicing car handling.
Wasn't the fastest but had fun. Pace is good enough when you get occasional oopsie moments. Oil temps reached 100'C even though engine was hardly working due to lack of grip. Was driving 3rd gear all the time.
