What does the term mean?
In layman's terms – a “homologation special” is a road legal car, produced in limited series by a manufacturer, to meet a race sanctioning body requirement.
 
After 2 months of GR pause went for a drive with my youngest - just a epic car. Had it for a sale for a while but took it off as the smile factor was so high again.
Best tune there is do drive your dailys with a crap car.

Steering, gearchange, and responsiveness are just out from this world.

Fun to have such car in life to bring joy to yourself and for kids aswell. My 4 year old was having a laugh saying that "dad cannot drive anymore" :D

having a second look now in the hub I'd say modifying dust covers would make cooling definitely better.
 
Maintenance & project plans for winter
- Fix broken brake bleed nipple (parts received)
- improve oil cooler air flow with insolated air path from bumper to cooler cell
- optional: valve springs change to Kelford springs & Ti retainers & valve locks, just to improve engine usability & endurance (opened a Q/A thread related for this job)
- optional: get vented hood (this Carbonetics looks interesting option), to improve cooling package. Glad to hear recommendations what is the best quality and performance. Bias on performance vs. the looks.

For my use case don't think upgraded camshafts would be worth the job as not going after last hp.

ideally it reduces the amount of oil that gets in cars intake system, thus keeping it cleaner and possibly also improving performance.
not sure what are real gains with GR as intake has been quite clean without catch can but thought of putting it in use as had one spare on on the shelf.

checked catch can after maybe 20km of faster driving, few short hot laps yesterday and 60km of easy road.
Not much goo but something still - glad to keep it off from intake + pipes. with this amount its ok if I check it 4 times a year.

Fun to see if it accumulates any more if spending more time on WOT on faster tracks, the track yesterday was very micky mousey so not much time spent on WOT really.

ps. broke off the thread of catch can drain plug once checking but what cannot new helicoil thread fix.
Now missing a magnet as original plug had it but dont' think its that critical there. The original plug thread pitch seemed to be exotic, maybe inch by smth.

Havent done much driving recently, but finished first 3rd welding project namely tire shelfs to the garage.
Got now 4m of shelf ready, first one mounted today. Plan to store maybe one wheelset per shelf, should take it quite easily.
After 10-15hr of welding time it starts to be more easy, namely with Stick /MMA. Tig havent tried yet.

thanks - got now maybe 3-4m2 space freed as stuff went on the shelf. helps quite a bit as keeping two cars in garage there's not too much extra room even though cars are tiny.
now three sets of tires can be on shelf + random longer stuff that is not that heavy.
 
garage projects continue. fabricated a support desk for welding/tools/repairs. Desk is 1000x400x5mm steel. Legs 40x40x3mm.
Added 30x30x3 L-bars under the desk to make it longitudally stiff. It seems to be sturdier than my 4mm commercial hobby welding table.
