Had my welcome call at about 1730 today, I was a 10:08 confirmed order. They were very helpful and happy to answer any questions. They confirmed August delivery but possibly September, didn't want to be more specific this far out which is fair enough. Said they still had lots of calls to make but let me know it's a small team that have been taken by surprise! Also asked a few questions about why I choose the car etc.

My car showed up in the MY T App last Friday and my eta in the website code is 5/8.
 
Are people only getting the call only if you selected that option for communication when ordering?
When I log into the Toyota page it says I'll receive the next steps via email.
Also on the order email it says they will contact me by email to explain the next steps? 🤔
 
I phoned them and was a 10:07 order. Phoned as I thought I'd been forgotten. Was within the next 15 to be called. Looking like late Sept/early Oct delivery
 
Thought I’d copy and paste my response to the order thread.

Had my call, 10:09 confirmation for an electric blue manual and estimated delivery is October. Car hasn’t gone into build yet so she couldn’t say more than that.

The girl I spoke to was really nice and said she’d had a lot of requests for the plates not being attached and PDI not being carried out.
I don’t have any of the communication boxes ticked either.
 
Just curious.. why does no one go for the PDI. Any disadvantages? I said the protection film inside and out can be removed but not to clean it.

I’d sooner have the fella that details every car I’ve had do it as it should need minimal paint correction. With my i30N he couldn’t believe the amount of swirls on a new car, they must have washed it with a gritty rag before handover despite me asking them to leave it.

It’s figuring out a date to book it in with him now!

So like me, i assume its only the cleaning that shouldn't be done by them.. I'll be doing myself, i have everything I need.
 
Once I know a firm date I'm booking in for ceramic coating. It will be driven from dealer straight there with all the transport stuff on, with the exception of stuff on glass. The detailer is within 3 miles of the dealer

I’m a 10.10 order in red.

Friendly lady called, said delivery likely end of August / early September but could move either way.

I mentioned that a lot of people online were panicking that they’d missed out because they hadn’t had a call yet, but she said that if you have a confirmed ORCA number you should be absolutely fine.

Was taking time to work through everyone as they had been caught slightly unawares and it is all a new process.

Oh I received my MyT notice on the 29th so call came a few days after that.

I think the calls from TUK and MyT notice are now happening when they happen, not in any specific order.
