GR86 Have you had the call?

So now that today marks the 12 week deadline....is there anyone who hasn't had their call yet?

I early into 11am, and I got a call yesterday at 5:15pm. Was told that the car should be an early '24 delivery.

I am 1100, missed the call yesterday so called back today.
I mentioned my dealer has told me the car will be in for mid September and he said there was a small delay he didn’t want to even give me a year estimate but did say Toyota will be keeping us updated…

Frustrating but Don’t worry , if you have an ORCA you have a car , guaranteed price and finance , it will just be a wait

The phone call isn't necessary but the dates they've said do now match the EDD's I have, so perhaps they were right all along

Got the call on Thursday, I’m in the last 100 orders as well, early ‘24 delivery estimate, 11.11 order.

Order confirmation 11.01, called 18/8 and told 'late' 23 for delivery!

I've still not had 'the' call, so none the wiser. Order confirmed at 10.51am, and I'm starting to lose a little love for the prospect of ownership tbh.

Toyota's communication is truly dire, and it really needn't be that way. In the grand scheme of things, we're a handful of prospective owners - it would be so simple to call us every six weeks or so with a proactive update. Reading half-truths on forums about cars being recalled doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Given that people are currently being told a likely delivery date of either "late '23 or "sometime in '24", I'm tempted to see the GR as a next-but-one car, and get something like an Audi S1 over the winter.

Waiting a *further* 12 months is just gonna make me want to flip the GR and at least earn a few grand for my trouble.
