GR Yaris Has anyone replaced front discs?

I asked Phil about this and there were unsure as to whether they are going to make the discs or not, which is a real shame as they look good.
Unfortunately still not sure…
We would need at least 8-10 orders to make the financial risk acceptable for us.

Video will follow soon.
After we see how the response is, we‘ll decide if we have them produced or not.

OP - have you looked at the discs from Godspeed? I have no affiliation to this company but can recommend his products.

For your information
28 mm and 25mm the disk must be replaced

Use mine exclusively for track work - findings on brakes to date:
- std pads are good for around 2 days (3 if there's a cold/wet day in there) They are soft, no doubt, but hold up well with reasonable temperatures (calipers around 195 deg C, discs around 500 max - wear to the discs is very low given the pad softness
- EBC blue stuff 2 days max - they are very soft imo - softer pedal feel than std - but did hold up to slighter higher temps (calipers 205 deg C, discs 525 deg C - again very little pad wear due to softness - std fluid however was not up to the task of Bedford at 32 deg C ambient, so massive fade by end of play
- next two trials will be DS2500's and then RP-1, both following upgrade to braided hoses and motorsport spec brake fluid - expecting a bit more disc wear given both DS and RP-1 compounds.

Expecting good things from the RP-1 given chats with users to date - Have offered the car as a trial for the EBC floating discs :-) - with a proper review to follow. Who from EBC needs my address for shipping?

PS - the car offers no warning for worn pads, nor I assume discs. If you're doing hard middle pedal work, I would defo suggest a regular visual to make sure you're not in for a surprise. If you're around any trackdays alongside me, welcome to come grab some temp paints for the discs so you can get a sense of what temps you're running

I thought that the standard disks had the little sticky-out metal squeal indicator on the inside front (but not rear) so they make a racket when the pad is getting low.

I could have imagined this.

BTW, if the stock pads wear fast rather than the disks, I'm sticking with stock pads, irrespective of how much dust they create!

Assuming you meant pads rather than discs, yes they do, on the inside pad. The problem with that is that, on my car at least, the outside pads wore out faster, and wore more on the top of the pad than the bottom (where the squealer tab is)

I know their 'stuff' range of pads have been questionable over the years but their RP1s got a great review by @DeanoC after some hammering on track.
Was going to say exactly the same. You could not pay me enough to put green/bluestuff on my car, but I respect DeanoC’s opinion on the RP1.

I'm replacing mine with Endless MX72 pads when they are finished, great enthusiasts road and a few trackdays brake pad
That said I'm actually thinking of staying OEM, not tracking so they don't wear quickly and when they are done it's probably a good idea to clean the caliper at that time anyway. Only annoyance is OE dust profusely but it also seems easy to clean off so no biggie
