Discussions are on going around what to do with my unbuilt order. One option is to run it as a road legal trackday car.

Has anybody used theirs on track yet? How was it? If so what needs upgrading?

And yes, I know the best upgrade is tuition, but we can take that as a given for now!

I haven’t but here are plenty in the US that have made YouTube videos of their efforts. Seems like the usual suspects, must have break fluid and pads as a minimum. As a track build I would start with bigger breaks, fluid, oil cooler, camber plates and tyres and then build as you learn. But I have to say that I think you will find the A110 a better track car. Maybe consider talking to David Pook at Life110.

It's also a thought, but it's twice the price of the 86

I have and it was pretty great with just the basics with pads, fluid and more front camber. I kept my sessions pretty short but the limiting factor was the tyres primarily

I had a passenger ride in a GT86 with wider (and much lighter) wheels, coilovers and the Reyland 330mm AP brake kit and the extra grip and braking ability was quite evident.

I want to max out the stock brakes first with better pads, fluids and maybe lines and the cylinder brace first. The Reyland AP set are on my list too as it seems reasonable compare to the GR ones. Tempted to buy the camber bolts and get a local motorsport company a friend uses to get a fast road setup on it

I found it fine on track in stock form. When lapping repeatedly on a track day, I like to look after the brakes and I've set the red line beep to 6000, but still I thought it a lot of fun.

For me, upgrades are really if you want the lap time, not necessarily to make the car more fun. It has a nice balance out of the box.

For one-lap sprint racing, most cars will be fine in stock form. There aren't enough long stops normally to overheat the brakes.
