GR86 Harry's Garage

Not a car I expected to see Harry review. Watching now.

Edit: finished watching. Glad to see he likes it. Only dislikes are largely subjective and entirely fair (interior design looks dated, exterior looks a little bland, sound could be better). But dynamically he seems impressed (although mentions the rev hang).

Think I may have seen this car as it being driven along roads my neck of the woods. I did see the only white one I've so far seen on the roads recently :)

More fun with a passenger. Particularly one who gasps and goes to grab the handle on the roof. That doesn’t exist.
😂

I know, he didn't even flinch. Effortless. I would have probably sharted and gone home to get some new pants.
If you've had loads of driver training and experience then controlling this becomes second nature.

If not then it's very easy to react in the wrong way and end up part of the scenery as an F40 driver in Hertfordshire recently found out.

Just watched it, fair review. Also disagreed with the looks comment but each to their own.

I've never understood why people don't like the looks. I really do and looks purposeful from lots of angles. Looks good in all the colours, silver shows the lines quite well and there's many details that get hidden in the darker colours. Had people say it looks Jag like, bit of Lotus and Mclaren in it. It's basic inside but the bits that matter are fine. That's why I got it. I was looking at cars to replace my daily and thought about a Swift Sport. But even a 5yr old one has all the nanny stuff on it so it's a pass. It rules out so many cars for me now that I can't ever see me selling the 86.

Im very pleased that Harry finally did a review as most, myself included as he is trusted and respected, and above all pretty honest!!
That said pretty much every reviewer doesnt research or omits the point that Mr Toyoda wanted the car built at a price point so people could go ahead and modify it, the chassis and engine are the stars of the car, it has all the bits to make it functional and none of the bits that piss you off electronically.
Lots love a love a very fortunate feeling owner on nearly 30K miles and its been soo sooo much fun on my filthy slimy greasy muddy flooded icy B road daily commute!! (please note I run CC2's in winter...an appropriate tyre for the season)
PS...dont be afraid to give it a little flick of the wheel and a touch of throttle, it will oblige and save you and me if talent runs out....just jump of the gas and it corrects very quickly if you feel a lumpy fart brewing!!

I actually laughed out loud at this comment as I hadn't heard it used for years, since my early time behind the wire ...😆
