GR Yaris GRY Mk3?

Time goes fast. we started speculating with Mk2 and now it is real. So putting on another thread with GR Yaris Mk3.
No clue if such will ever be build, but its fun to speculate what it could be.

My assumption is that it will be mild hybrid. Toyota will keep the great engine platform, but add an electric motor into rear axle to give occasional 50hp / 100Nm push?
Car will gain fat and weight 50kg more. but that is not that big issue as most weight will be on rear axle.

To chassis it will be bigger change, as chassis will be revised aswell.

I wish there would be rally and circuit pack options from the factory, but see the likelyhood to this very small.

Pricing will be up 15% from mk2, with limited availability (as it is even more nische car than mk1 or mk2).
 
I have mentioned it before like I mentioned almost 2 years ago about the facelift.

Currently in development there IS a full MK2 GR Yaris which is a full model update and evolution. It's some years off yet though and there's always the possibility the project could be cancelled.
 
I read today that Hotpoint Hyundai have stopped producing the i20 and i30 N models. Toyota are obviously a bit less milk-floaty than Hyundai but I'd be very surprised if there was a Mk 3 petrol GRY. But then I was one of the Mk 2 unbelievers, so who knows?

By looking at how you nailed almost all specs of the Mk2 a while ago, I guess you could be quite right this time again.
I really don't know if there is a long term future for batteries as car engines (or support to car engines), seeing how fast their hype-wave is losing steam, recently.
I'm more keen about the diffusion of ICEs using e-fuels, and so my doubt is whether we will ever see an hybrid GRY in any form in the future.
 
If it’s in any way hybridized, then I’m out. Forever. More allocations for everyone else lol.

MK1 for life. I’ll probably buy another one for good measure and store it away until I’m 60.

I know at least one who has done so. Very advanced driver, one well used more sideways then straight on and one in storage, cars completely stock but loads of different different tyre sets. How it's done?!?

this internet car hype of fast being automatically better is very funny. maybe it has something to do with all EV hype and all.
I tend nowadays like good things to happen slowly - cars, food, hmm. :D

luckily not participating in that crazy wheel where everything needs to be fast and instant. Its better to earn and work for stuff. makes you feel you've done actually something.
 
Funnily enough, none of Ferraris or Porsches have ever overtaken one GRY on track even though been there quite a few times.
Well one competition lambo did but that was on slicks and not on legal fuels anyways. but yeah its not that fast track car as such so not really a discussion point

Perhaps it's just because anything easier to measure is easier to communicate, compare and focus/obsess on.

Over time, in an attempt to make the important measurable, we have instead made the measurable important.

Agree that you should understand and agree what you measure and results what you get.
I love measuring and analysing stuff. the problem in today's world is that quite many topics are suboptimized which leads easily that you miss the big picture. such as eduction and learning is important, not how many puplis pass the exams. Sadly science seems to have lost the game and believes and feelings seem to be more important. was thinking the other day why everyone is so obsessed with AI - because it is so good in making things up ? Getting really old in today's (ever faster) world...

@AdrianoJamesPiras thinks of the GRY as a trendsetter, based on his industry insights; ie more offerings of this kind will emerge from other manufacturers.

Not that I don't like the idea of a GRY MK3, but two options to consider are better than one; and even more is choice rather than a dilemma.

 
Given WRC ditched hybrid technology don't see it as interesting tech to be added into street cars unless there is a need to drop CO2 emissions.
