GR86 Gr86 Vs BBR MX5

My Mrs is very much team "sell the 86, buy an MX5 to go with the Yaris" so this was an interesting read.

Not sure it's going to be easy to let it go when it finally gets here!

Engaging smug face..

Thanks for the heads up @PVGR . I plan to make a nice cup of freshly ground coffee shortly and sit down and have a proper read, and then absolutely avoid the comments section (nEeDs a tUrbO, yOu caN buY a uSed BentLeY for tHAt pRiCe etc etc)

Really good article,a glowing review. If the indicators are the only bad thing, I'd be happy :D

As I commented, I've been getting really frustrated with this whole process and not really able to get excited. But that article helps remind me I made a good choice.

Ah yes, the pistonheads classic "my Bmw 320 diesel auto will waste it from the lights"
It's stuff like this which is why I stopped frequenting the PH forums.

Right, I've savoured that article and wow now I just want my car.

I am a former GT86 owner. It was totally standard and I loved it. Therefore, this quote is heartening to read: Certainly, anyone fortunate enough to be on the end of a confirmed GR86 order is in for a twice-in-a-generation treat. Let’s hope many if not most are GT86 customers, who deserve to see the concept finally perfected.

I note that the car they have used is the one (not surprisingly) a few of us poked and prodded and sat in earlier this year.

Due to the reg, anyone mind if we name this one Zebedee?

This could refer to the magical powers straight out of the box, or indeed 'gift of God' in Hebrew.

And with regard to the Pistonheads comments section: I took a deep breath and ventured in there without backup (foolish I know). Second post: Does anyone know why Toyota didnt just fit the GR Yaris engine into the GR86?

Yes I do actually, but with all due respect I cannot be bothered to explain it to you good sir!

And another one: For me, as good as the GR86 no doubt is, I think I would still struggle to choose it over one of several mid-engine Porsches from the 986, 987 or 981 generations (take your pick).

Yeah for me as good as several mid engined Porsches are, I'd struggle to choose one over a detached house, the new Arctic Monkeys album and a medium-rare steak dinner.

Morons on PH comparing used to new again. All we need is someone saying it needs more power and we'll have a full set. On FB someone said get a 928. A car over 30yrs old!

If you have a long time to wait for your car you could buy an Audi, they don't have indicators so you will get used to not needing them when your car arrives:p

Nice article to keep the appetite whetted during the loooonnngg wait.
