The place to discuss everything related to the TRD GR Monoblock Brake kit for the GR86.

@Fensport are the U.K. importer for these parts. At the moment it is unclear if the kit will clear the OEM 10 spoke 18inch alloys. This kit look the same design as the parts used on the GR Yaris.

The kit comprises:

Front:
Monoblock 4 piston caliper 345mm brake disc,
GR86 OEM 294mm TBC
GRYaris 356 mm

Rear:
Monoblock 2 piston caliper 330mm brake disc
GR86 OEM 290mm TBC
GR Yaris 294 mm

The cost is currently £4,275.94 , but @Fensport do offer 5% discount for GR-Zoo members 👍😎

Fingers crossed they do fit the stock wheels. I fancy an OEM+ look and a really sorted suspension and braking setup.

The disc diameter should not be a problem they are 15mm smaller than the GRY and they fit under 18s it’s more likely to be clearance between the calliper and the spokes. AFIAK @Fensport are looking for someone with a car to do a test fit of this kit , unfortunately I doubt I will get my car early enough to be able to help out ☹️ as I like the look of this kit and it will fill the wheels nicely 😎

At last some photos of the TRD GR86 Monoblock brakes on a car😎 , looks as though they will fit under the OEM 10 spoke 18 inch alloys 🤔 Now it looks like it means business 💪😉

@Fensport do you have a kit in stock yet Tom?

Unfortunately not, I've got only one set on order for a customer that has already bought them and it is unfortunately just these holding up the whole order until the end of August :(

If someone wanted a set I might be able to get them on the same shipment if we knew asap. But similar deal to the GR Yaris and much longer than usual back orders than usual.

Plus with Toyota's weirdness of will they won't they offer trd accessories, number of cars coming and delivery times I've been reluctant to go too heavy on stock for this shipment.

Tom , thanks for the update , unfortunately there is no rush for many folk as it’s looking like 2023 for a lot of us. Looking forward to seeing what difference the kit makes , it definitely looks the part 👍😎

Jusr for comparison:

@Jianlun , thanks for posting , do the AP Essex calipers have dust covers for road use?

No they don't Andy, they aren't suitable for road use so they aren't an option.

I just assumed you need the pads aswell as the kit in case anyone else was thinking the same, the TRD breakbads are for the stock calipers, not compatible with GR monoblock kit.

This is most likely what should fit TRD/Advics 4-pot.
Where it comes to AP racing calipers it's possible to get them with dust boots but not sure if from Essex AP. Iirc Reyland used to sell their kits with CP9200 AP Caliper which should come with dust boots. There are also BBKs sold by AP (themselves ?) AP Racing Factory BBK.

Anyone planning on here planning to get the TRD a brake kit 🤔 looks good behind the stock alloys 😎

I was planning on it but if I’m being honest it’d only be for looks. Plus we’re moving house and it’s hard to justify that kind of spend.

Anyone in the UK 🇬🇧 fitted the kit yet? @Fensport
Love the car, though the brakes just arnt ‘sharp’ enough. Guessing a more fast road/track pads would be the answer. But going to Nurburgring it.
As I’ve learnt in the past, sort the brakes right the first time!

Fensport posted on Instagram the other day someone getting that kit fitted.
I’d certainly be interested in opinions vs the front only Reyland AP kit with well chosen pads.
