GR86 GR86 - The “I’m thinking of cancelling / did cancel my order” thread

I genuinely think it looks good in all the colours.
If you really dislike a particular colour don't get it.
If it's just a preference then I'd suggest get what you can.
I hear you, but many of us need the car to be special for it to be worthwhile, and if it doesn't look right, then what's the point? I agree that all colours have their good points, but that's not to say they're all the same or good in the same way. I really don't think black would be for me, but that doesn't mean I can't see that it looks cool. And similarly with red - a classic style sports car in red - what's not to love? But it's just too showy for me as it'll be my daily. And I prefer red on Ferraris.

Of the 4 colours I'm interested in, Grey was last. As I've said before I think it can looks really classy (you see quite a few Porsches and Astons in a dark grey) but as Tushki found, I didn't think it would be showy enough (the opposite to the red). I think I'd still rather the grey than no 86, but what should make me feel spoilt would end up feeling less special.

I appreciate that for some people the 86 is their cheap car so they can have fun without putting too many miles on their collection of priceless classics, but this is quite extravagant for me and the colour matters.

It will be my daily driver too @Triggaaar so I hear you

I think there a genuine mix on this forum of those for whom the car will be one of many and others who wanted a piece of the action but won’t drive anything else..

My experience so far however of the forum is it’s a great place .. Certainly more friendly than some football forums.. But here we really do have a common interest

Don't worry about it, fate meant you've ended up with the best colour! :p
I couldn’t order white… I’ve had to look at my Stepmum’s white IQ for the last ten years in the same colour so it would be too much 😋

More dilemma for me. Advertised my silver GR86 as was struggling to justify a car I have done under 300 miles in 4 months in. My brother convinced me to keep it.

Just got off the phone from him and he is part exchanging his nearly new stunning 3 series touring. I’m so tempted to just buy that off him for what he is getting part ex.

Anyone want a silver GR? 🙈

It was a bit of an accident tbf. I only test drove the Yaris as the 86 was taking so long to deliver. I really liked the red on the Yaris but a deal came up on a white one locally so I took it. 3 months later the 86 arrived.

That was white because I'd seen at GT86 in Pearl White before and loved it. Plus Japanese racing colours! ;-p

The Subaru white (86) and Toyota white (Yaris) are not the same but they both look great in the full sun, on a cloudy day, or inside under the lights.

Oh blimey, they are quite different. The useless dealer showed me a white Toyota that was supposedly the same as the white GR86, but I guess it wasn't after all. How would you describe the differences?

The Subaru white has a slight cream tint to it but you only really notice it next to another purer white car.

Thanks Rob. I was looking at Minis and they have a White Silver which I really like, but there's also a Pepper White which is quite creamy and I don't like at all. I'm fairly confident that the 86 white isn't anything like that creamy.

The Mini White Silver I REALLY like, more silver than white.

imo, the Yaris white in your photo is better
I originally wanted to order white when I saw the CG on their website. In the CG the colour looks like your Yaris.
