GR86 GR86 - Service Plans

I’m a 3 year plan, 3 services and 3 6 month checks.

34 monthly payments starting Feb @ £37

I queried the checks but they have told me they are mandatory for the 10 year warranty to be valid. I’m not sure I believe them but for the sake of £225 over 3 years and the peace of mind that they can’t then back out of something further down the line I’m happy.

The 6 monthly check only applies to the GR Yaris.

Which dealer network was that please? I’m surprised they’re not all coming in at the same price! (well within a pound or two).

I’ve had a quote at circa £33 per month (no MOTs) - for 10 years, tho’ it says in there one of the benefits is to:

“Beat inflation and fix the cost of servicing (for up to four years)”

Sales guy wasn’t sure why it says four years only, do others have that mentioned?
It was Steven Eagell.

I believe the national service plan is a fixed cost plan spread out over 0% monthly payments for the duration of the plan. You can easily work out how much it would be by looking at the current fixed price servicing costs and dividing the total over monthly payments. The discount only applied when choosing the specific dealer network.

All service plans are managed by Emac Ltd.

I was initially told only 3 years were available but my dealer managed to provide me with quotes up to 10 years afterwards.

Yeah that’s what I read to them howeve they were adamant that it was required and it is going to be mandatory.

If it doesn’t update at a later date to be required I will argue again and get it refunded from service plan, at the end of the day it’s an extra £7 a month. It’s not the end of the world.

What does annoy me is we are back to no consistent information

On my service plan documents it refers to the Owners Manual for servicing schedule. That clearly states 10k miles/1 year servicing intervals for the GR86.

Andy has kindly collated the timeline of the service schedule in this post:

Yeah mine too which is why I queried again. We shall see what they come back with

There seems to be a lack of consistancy here (surprise).

3 years with and without MOTs, 5 years, 10 years.

£27 to £37 spread?

When I sat down with the sales guy I deal with the system he uses would only let him do a three year plan , which includes an MOT and two extra years breakdown assistance. After three years they recalculate and (I was told) the price includes any additional items such as MOT , Diff oil , spark plugs etc which are due in that period. 🤷‍♂️

I spoke to a guy in sales at Emac (who operate the scheme) - like for like plans should all be the same price he said! (i.e. no discounts at certain dealers etc).

If you might be a long term owner could be worth getting into a long term plan ASAP (if possible) - the salesman at my dealer said they were being told 3 years max (the guy at Emac said the same).

I managed to do the 10 year scheme, it’s about £33 a month (no MOTs).

Hi All, just a headsup, in case any of you are on the fence with the service plans. There appears to have been a price increase compared to previous posts so you may want to lock in savings early.

Previously it was £300 for a service A and £450 for a service B.
The timeline thread implies it went up around June 2022?

There were a few price increases over the years, .

Below are historic prices for Toyota servicing which I found online for GT86 (which should be the same cost to service and has the same service intervals as the GR86):

Before April 2019 - £205 intermediate, £365 full service
April 2019 - £250 intermediate, £395 full service
August 2022 - £300 intermediate, £450 full service
December 2022 - £315 intermediate, £470 full service

There was an "owning GR86" page before Aug '22 showing prices as £190 intermediate and £310 full service, but I don't think they ever applied to any cars.

Toyota Relax warranty was announced on 01/06/2021 for reference.

EDIT:

For the GR Yaris the service intervals were shorter at 6k miles/1 year with a required check in every 6 months, and the cost went up from £190 for intermediate and 340 for full service to what you see above for the GR86.

I've been offered 36 * £36 for A-B-A+MOT
Total 3 years @ £1296
Same here, my salesman told me on Wed this is new kaizen (or similarly sounding word) plan that was introduced recently and should be consistently offered by all dealers, and it's the only plan they offer

Same here , when I asked about additional items such as diff oil, plugs, MOT etc I was told that if you take out an additional plan after say the first 3 years those items are added and costed in
