GR86 GR86 Scale Models

Grabbed one of these off eBay for my little lad. Hopefully see a few more colour variants turn up! And as a former GT86 owner, I had to get him one of those too - it’s the Majorette one, slightly larger scale than Hot Wheels.

I look through the boxes in every shop I go in and yet to find one. Need to go to a Smyths or bigger shops to try my luck there
 
Don't go too heavy on those shut-lines. I saw a video on youtube with the 'Snap-Kit' and the bloke's black 'infill' painting made it look like a poorly stitched patchwork quilt ...Farkin' awful man! 🫣

Ha ha. You need really thin paint and let it flow through the gaps. Failing that, ultra fine dark grey pens. Black is always too harsh.
 
Bought a 1/24 Diecast model of the GR86, £10 from AliExpress. Not an exact match for Electric Blue, but it was either this or orange. Pull-Back and Go drive, with working horn and lights when you open a door. Open any door for a second time and a high pitched (ear piercing) alarm goes off, flashing horn and lights - loud enough to send my 'noise averse' Jack Russell Terrier scurrying out of the room! 🐶😵‍💫

My ‘snap-kit’ model arrived yesterday, so this afternoon I spent an hour or so putting it together. Some of the stickers were bloody microscopic! Never again. Here it is parked next to the slightly bigger AliExpress Diecast one:

Last night I finally finished my Tamiya kit! Has taken me ages but I dont build many kits and this was the first one I did 'properly'.
I'm pretty please with how it turned out but mucked up the paint job a bit - I didnt thin the Tamiya metallic laquer so it went on grainy in some areas.
The front bumper I learned my mistake and the paint went on much better... Anyway I hope you like it. Going to make some customised number plates for it to match mine....
