GR86 GR86 Pickup checklist

Have used both Harris number plate tape, and 3M Dual Lock if you want to remove it for cleaning.

My dealer just grabbed some sticky tabs that they use for the cars in the showroom and they seem fine.

What are people using to stick the plates on? I know a lot of you opted for plates in the trunk from the dealership, a few mentioned using double sided tape, or tape with velcro on it - can you send links to a good one?
Anything 3M will always be fine. My dealer had already stuck them on when I got there though. I had asked for them not to screw them on (only request) but had expected to do that bit myself.

I tried to consolidate all the bits I've spotted dotted around....

Outside the car:
  • Walk around the car to check for paintwork scratches/dents, general exterior condition
  • Check Rubber Plug for the frame rail - under the side sills in front of the rear tyres
  • Check transport blocks aren't still in
  • Check the condition of the tyres given the cars potentially haven't moved for four months
  • Tyre pressures and check if TPMS is working
  • Check locking wheel nuts are present and the socket/key
  • Check alloys aren’t kerbed/scratched
  • Check all dealer stickers are gone
  • Check lights for condensation
  • Check all the external lights work
  • Check if parking sensors installed and cleanly

Under the Bonnet:
  • Check fluid levels:
    • Oil
    • Coolant
    • Washer fluid
    • Brake fluid
    • Petrol - check if dealer used 98RON or above
  • Check VIN matches your paperwork

In the boot:
  • Check that there's a jack/locking wheel nut/tyre gunk etc.
  • (Is there a boot mat?)
  • Check the boot - anything in it?
  • Remove dealer sticker if present

Inside the car:
  • Check floor mats are present
  • General interior condition
  • Check all internal lights work
  • Check windows go all the way up/down per button expectations (one touch/part-touch)
  • Check the mileage
  • Check track mode button and other buttons all work
  • Check all controls all work & feel right
  • Check head unit will pair to your phone on bluetooth for the drive home

  • Handbook/service book present?
  • Check the glove box - anything in it?
  • Cuddly toy & bamboo box
  • Check the pre-delivery checklist
  • Check 2 keys and the “key number plate” little metal thing
  • TBD: Turn off keyless entry?
  • Pair the car with the 'MyT' App

Thanks @NoBoost - Just what I needed for my collection next week :)

A month in from owning my car and I've just realised I've been running around with low tyre pressure. Should be 2.4 bar, mine showed 2.2. Didn't even think about it as I always work in PSI, and thought 35PSI was "about 2.2 bar" 😄

Annoyingly you don't seem to be able to change the TPMS dash readout from bar to PSI, so I'd better engrave "2.4" on my mind from now on.

Reminds me that I need to reduce the pressure in mine now I've collected it to reset the tmps to make it show on the dash (y)

Random one… should the front floor matts both have the GR86 logo on them? My driver’s side has it but not the passenger’s. On my GT86 both sides had the branding.

Apparently* the cars with volume knobs an the left have the logo in the passenger side, and those who are right knobbers have the logo on the driver's side.

*May require a fact checking

Ha ha. Planned to check these things, but just saw the car parked up when I arrived, then let the sales guy go through his hand over and all I really wanted to do was get in and go. I did do some checks on the main things, but the plan went out the window. 🤣🤣🤣

Still all looks good from checking back now. 👍

Weird, I work in SI units all day long, but for car stuff, imperial just seems right and what I'm used to. And pints🍻

Regarding the MyT app mine says no connected services available, you're supposed to pair this up?
And what features does this give?
