GR86 GR86 Duckbill spoiler install

I have heard back from Inchcape Guildford and they quoted £290.28 for boot spoiler, not sure if vat inc and £164 for mudflaps and £250 to fit.

Also said no space saver kit available?

I asked my dealer for a quote and he just sent me screenshots from the website. I don’t think anyone should be more paying more than the figures quoted given they are the prices on the official Toyota website accessories page.

Watch the you tube install videos... Simple for anybody with basic skills
I've thought about it, but I'm tempted to offload the liability.

It's not arrived yet, I'm going to enquire with the supplying dealer about the spoiler and mud flaps next week. Might ring Toyota and see if the latter can still be added to my order.

On the spare wheel, I watched a video taken inside the Gunma factory, and the boot of one BRZ/GR86 very clearly had a spare wheel in it, so there must be a part number somewhere.

I’m sure I’ve seen the mudflaps for £120 so anything more is fitting.. Can’t be more than 30 - 45 mins from what I’ve seen on the YouTube fitting video

Anyone recommend a bodyshop to fit the spoiler in the Midlands? My dealer says they can't even order one.

Have a look on YouTube… Even if you go down the drilling route it’s not rocket science… Anybody with an ounce of common sense would be capable of doing the fitting

Even easier if you decide to remove the mounting points (as they are stuck on with tape anyway)

Inchcape Guildford have quoted £620 inc. VAT to supply and fit a ducktail. BTW Seem to be delays on mudflaps.

I'd like to clear something up, not all the bolts sit in holders that are taped down, some are moulded.

Therefore saying you may as well use 3M as the the bolts are taped down isn't accurate.

I think it's likely the spoiler will stay on fine with just tape, but I bolted it because Toyota recommended it and as I have bolts I can tighten the spoiler down more at any point in the future if it becomes loose.

And mine did start creaking, quick tighten all good.

You can't do that with tape.

Make your own choice but with all the info! 🙂

The nuts are grip bottoms, there should be no need to ever tighten if torqued correctly in the first place. Did you forget to pull the tape cover off?
Reason I ask is simple, the 3m tape AND bolts should make for a static completely fixed duck tail without ever needing tightening due to creak.

Life would be dull if we were all the same, I’m more than happy with the simpler 3M fix, 4 months in.

There wasn't any torque settings mentioned on my instructions so perhaps I didn't do them tight enough first time.
All the tape covers came off for sure.

Can anyone with the ducktail confirm if it’s stuck solid at the rear? I can lift mine up a couple of mm. Looks like it’s not stuck down properly.

Anyone else waiting on parts. Specifically the ducktail spoiler [ice silver].

Dealer is suggesting eta 5th December, 2023.

I've been waiting for the spoiler since... August? ETA now November but I'll await yet another disappointing phone call.

Ordered mine from Torque GT mid September and was also told it would arrive in 12 weeks. Managed to buy it for only £313 which was a nice saving
