GR86 GR86 Duckbill spoiler install

Its fine...

My supra's is glued on with 3M tape just the same and the acceleration is much more brutal, and it's a faster car and that's staying on and I've been to an airfield and tested it at well over 120 on a private strip (that I know the owner of).

Just remember, that 3M takes about 72 hours to cure fully.... I think top of my head its 50% strength after 24 hours, then achieves the full strength at 72 hours.
Thanks 👍

Not sure what tape it is, but if it’s the 3M vhb stuff, it’s basically permanent and is going nowhere without a blow torch and metal scraper! Just been checking it out for another project…

Ducktail fitted and I really am pleased I did, rear 3/4 and rear square on looks just right to me :) Guildford Toyota got it done and its perfectly aligned and fitted.

What sort of cost are people being quoted for the duckbill fitted by Toyota?
I was quoted £620 last week which feels way too much?

I'd try Curtis Toyota in Ballymena, unless the prices have went up, that is quite expensive, should be closer to £500

Stephen Eagell quoted £720.00 fitted! so very likely to order and fit myself

I'm getting mine through Stephen Eagell and it's just under £500 fitted. Seems a big difference depending on which branch

I paid £475 at Guildford Inchcape. Original quote was about £100 more but they did a deal for me as I said Jemca had already installed for £475 on another GR86, I also had an oil service, parking sensors and front mudflaps done at the same time which might have helped with the deal. Its been fitted mm perfectly which was my main worry, but it looks factory fitted alignment. Would recommend, Jordan at Guildford was really helpful and sorted it all out.

I was originally quoted : Duck bill spoiler £627.59 fitted including VAT / Mudflap £174.77 fitted including VAT.
Told my dealer that was way too expensive and have seen cost of £648.82 for both from other people here and they agreed to price match. Took 2 months for the spoiler to arrive and get fitted.

My car went in today as there were gaps between the spoiler and boot lid, they have advised that the bonding has failed on the spoiler and they need to order another one - apparently Toyota have them in stock and should be with my dealer tomorrow - not holding my breath on that one.

Meanwhile I get to drive a Yaris Cross (requested a different car if mine is in for a prolonged period, got told no).

Some serious inconsistencies from dealer to dealer, hope it gets sorted quickly.

Could have been worse, I got an Aygo Cross and you had to decide whether to have the air con on or make it to the top of a hill without changing down 2 gears, both was not an option!!

Toyota did indeed have a replacement spoiler available, much to my amazement.
Collected my car on Friday, there is still a gap to either side between spoiler and the car, but having looked at the previous spoiler (dealer technician confirmed it was faulty), there are 2 strips of black rubber and not anything to stick it down.
Not sure if it's by design or a design fault, although having looked at @Hachi-roku spoiler it looks much the same.

They have made some minor damage to the paint work though. So it will have to go back in for them to fix that.

And now the boot won't open from the button at the back - have to open it via the key. Hopefully they can easily fix when it goes back in.

Pretty sure everyone has those gaps, still worth it though!

They've not plugged the cable back in. If you take off that carpet on the boot lid it's just behind it
