GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

So did you already have one on order, or have you only just ordered? Or did you have an invitation, and were just test-driving before finalising?
I had caught the second interest round last year, said yes to an order, did the test drive and then ordered on 2 July. Car in the UK, so cancelled order, finance fail, either way it won't be long.

That's a good move by the dealership - helps stop the door slammers, dry steerers and gear stick wobblers that frequent car show rooms. Did they allow the car to be taken to the detailers prior to your collection or did a mobile unit visit the showroom on your behalf?
It's been at the detailers for 3 days then back to fit the mudguards and make the showroom look good - ill be checking for fingerprints!!. Got Gtechniq crystal serum ultra with ppf to the front bumper 👍

My wife's arrived in the country last Tuesday. The tracker has never worked either online or on the app so still says processing. Patiently waiting for Toyota to call and confirm all future progress and steps. Been told early August and we have a 300 mile journey to take August 12th so would be perfect to chug through a load of the break in mileage over a weekend. Since April last year this has been one hell of a long wait! Nearly out the other side...

I saw an electric blue GR86 on track at Donington last week and was chatting to him. He was all over my DC5 on track with that touch more power. He was without his for 2 months as the Toyota tech accidentally stalled it in first gear and it jumped into a wall! Had to wait for a new bumper, bonnet and headlight. Fingers crossed nothing crazy like that happens and that they follow instructions and do not wash the car for me and butcher the paint day 1.

Thought the day would never come, but here she is a long last. Quick 50 miles and loving it so far. @AndyRC no. 181 for the list and a lefty volume knob 😄

I don't think there's a bad colour these come in. If I'd not gone for Electric Blue, seeing more pics now I'd have a hard choice. I'd probably go sapphire but red looks great too. The silvers and white show the lines well. Black I wouldn't just because keeping clean is harder.

Sigh ... Seeing all of these motors turn up is making my wait even harder! After my recent change request, today after enquiring, I was informed that my car won't likely arrive until November . That'll be the Summer over and nothing to play with!
Goodness knows how I'm expected to run the car in over the Scottish Winter as my 'play cars' normally hibernate from early December to the beginning of April. I may just have to do a 560 ish miles day-return trip to Cobra Sport Exhausts in Sheffield for an exhaust before it goes to bed. I would do an over-nighter but I'm worried about leaving it outside of the local Travelodge all night ..

Agreed - all seem to look good when clean or in the right light. Some are easier to keep clean than others, and some may go better with the black wheels (it's a shame there's zero choice on the wheels, it's quite dull that everyone gets black).

If you've already ordered, you're not getting it until November, and they'll stop delivering them after December, does that not give the impression that they'll stop offering people the option to buy shortly?

Mine updated today as being in Portbury so hopefully not long left to go. My old Up GTI got collected today as well, so a few weeks on having to get the bus to work for me:D.

For those that got the spoiler fitted at the dealer, did you contact them before they got the car or just once it arrived with them? Mine isn't going to a GR specialist, take it they' be able to fit it no worries?

Hi, hope you get your car soon. I currently have an Up GTI and a GR86 on order. I really like my Up but unfortunately can't keep both. I do have a practical estate, but the Up is a great small car that does everything quite well. Hoping I made right decision to get the GR and sell the Up 😬.

I could never see me letting our Up gti go…for any car
Oh, I know how you feel ! Am really getting second thoughts. Other car is a BMW M340i touring, which is fabulous and I thought the GR 86 would be a perfect second car - but I love my Up GTI!
