GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

After being told collection before Christmas and then a series of ETAs: 2/12, 16/12, 19/12, 23/12, 12/01. I resigned myself to not seeing the car till April as I'm off on a business trip from the 5th of Jan for 3 months.

I managed to organise a second unaccompanied test drive yesterday to see me through to April. I thoroughly enjoyed the second test drive after finding some empty B roads and seeing what the car could really do.

This evening I had 4 phone calls from the dealership and online team to tell me my car arrived and I can collect it tomorrow. A Christmas miracle!
 
My car also arrived at the retailer yesterday, and the salesman has even come in on his day off to get the car from the depot and to make sure it'll be PDI'd for Christmas. Great service! Collect it tomorrow.

However, during the PDI there is no spare key or service book. Has anyone had any similar issues and how was it resolved?
 
I should probably update this thread as I'd forgotten.
Fantastic experience dealing with both Toyota Online and my dealer RRG Macclesfield throughout. Have had daily updates from head office, photographs of the car going through PDI at both stages, dealer has been in contact to ask about cleaning, plate options, completely open to pickup times and dates. As usual, 10/10 from RRG.
I get mine at around 10:30 in the morning, tomorrow (23/12). Haven't had a test drive, just a straight step from the Supra 3.0 into the GR86. Better be worth the 8 month wait!
 
Me again, car has left the factory and is pending shipping over here (10:38). Anyone hazard a guess how long it usually takes to get over here from Japan? I need to start thinking about selling my Impreza 🥲

I’ve done the same, Supra 3.0 to GR86 - I’ve had the car now for over a week, and managed to do over 300 miles, various routes and even a few daily commutes. I’m not regretting it so far.

Finally picked up in time for Christmas. A tip for those who may not know, take a USB cable to plug in your phone, especially if you want to play the GR86 playlist - playlist
Here's a quick pic rather the boring white exterior ;) - the lovely engine bay.

Congratulations!

Thank you for creating the playlist!

Another tip if you have problems with Android Auto as I did, try cleaning the USB connector on your phone. I used a sewing needle and got lots of gunk out that stopped my Android Auto working.

Good tip. Apple car play works very well and used WAZE last night all seemed well integrated.
 
There's more than I expected to be picking up their cars today - have fun for those that are!

There was another poster who had the same issue, the dealer was going to send it on after. Not ideal, but perhaps not a reason to delay collection. Personally, I can't understand why these would be separated at any part of the process...

Around 30 days port to port I believe. Not sure on the final legs, 2 to 4 weeks maybe?
 
Fortunately no meteorites landed on the dealer last night, nor were there any raging fires or floods so I finally got my car today!

Very smooth handover. Two keys. bamboo box. half a tank of fuel. Very wet and busy traffic so I've not explored how it goes yet - 300 mile trip tomorrow should get me used to it! Oh and my knob is on the right :p

Has anyone heard from Silver Fox, has he been arrested following an unfortunate incident involving his pyjamas?
