GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

It's all bollocks! They've been selling the GT86 for 10 years and if a sales person can't familiarise themselves with a new car that is sat on their forecourt within 10-20 minutes in preparation of giving a handover, then they should be sacked!

Anyone who is annoyed and fed up with waiting should go and buy the latest Evo magazine. Has put a big old smile on my face and extended my patience!
Good review / article?

Will have to pop out tomorrow & pick a copy up.

It's probably the most basic car they sell even, basic infotament system. 3 pedals or a basic automatic, no auto driving stuff to explain.

Should be the quickest if you ask me

Don’t they show you how to drift it!!

My car arrived at Portbury 1st November (Georgia Highway). I contacted by local dealer (Helensburgh) to let them know and they said that 'the system' is showing delivery to them on 25th November and they hope I would physically have the car by the end of the month!!:oops:
Currently taking this with a massive pinch of salt, but who knows🤞🤞

Forgot to post an update here, got an email last week confirming finance/part ex details, phoned the online team to change a few things.

Was told I'll be contacted in the next few weeks to finalise finance and do a bank transfer, test drives 2nd half of this month, delivery start of dec but they plan to have delivered all cars currently at Derby by end of december latest.

Delays caused by brake ECU as others mentioned, and that all dealers should have a list of accessories and have been instructed to call customers to let them know the options, so was surprised to find out I hadn't been updated on that. Also was told the reservation fee can be put towards deposit now after it previously couldn't be. And the interest rate on finance will be honoured for all who ordered a car under it, regardless of delivery time.

He apologised for the lack of info and said they've been as much in the dark as others, having to check through notes for any snippet of information he had.

Also was told that there is no UK track warranty for the GR86... And that warranty claims made for anything that breaks during a track day will be on a case by case basis, and if it could be attributed to the track day or driving situations which happen during a track day then it's likely not to be granted. Seems a bit of a shame considering in the US they're giving a free year membership to NASA... https://gr.drivenasa.com/

My last contact with the dealer was 5 weeks ago and they advised me 12/11 ETA at the time, so no doubt I'll receive a phone call any time this week asking me to collect it. :ROFLMAO:

Can't believe how long this has dragged on, and that I'm now crossing my fingers simply for "before Christmas" :(

Don’t suppose you have heard from them about test drives?

I’m collecting from Parks Inverness which isn’t a GR centre so contacted Helensburgh for test drive but haven't heard anything from them atall. I’m guessing because they don’t know anything but just wondered if they had communicated anything to you.

Had a call yesterday to say 2 weeks from now are test drives and then 2 weeks after that it's the delivery (roughly). Matches with other comments here I guess.
He did say that the duck bill had to be fitted after registration, as it affects the WLTP apparently. Haven't had a quote in for that yet from the dealer.
That also said they are encouraging those who haven't had the GT86/ rwd sports car to test drive them as they want to avoid having them registered for the owner to then refuse it, which adds a previous owner to the v5. They also don't hold up the customer deliveries.

Going to go searching for the latest evo mag to build my excitement back up!

I didn't ask about test drives TBH as it's not important to me;)
So far my comms with Helensburgh have been spot on, despite knowing little or nothing more than me they have at least been open , honest and very quick to respond - can't fault them(y) (unfortunately TUK don't apply the same customer model )

Not overly important to me now, it was more when it was hinted that they would be in July. Now I just want my car and not fussed for test drive tbh.

Good to hear they have been spot on with you, I can’t really fault Inverness either. They know as much as anyone else.
