It would depend on the spare wheel I guess. The RoadHero wheel in my vehicle has a very pronounced 'outward' shape to the spokes, so I feel quite confident that it would. I may try it out once the Godspeed kit is fitted in October ...
I have the impreza 17" one, and it does not fit over the godspeed kit. Its not it offset that's a problem (otherwise could fix with spacers), it's the diameter. Fouls the top and bottom of caliper.
Putting it for sale shortly.
I bought this 18" spare and it fits fine :

For those with a BBK on their GR86, did you add it as a mod to insurance and did it make a difference to the premium? I’m not sure that ‘better brakes’ is really something that needs to be declared is it?

Yes because it's implied you'll be driving harder, braking later, etc. In the past I declared on other cars and it did add quite a bit. But if it was just a pad/disk improvement I wouldn't bother.
