The crazy thing is that 8.9% PCP on a used car is one of the best rates around. BMW and Audi are well over 10%, usually around 13%.
As my last post has been merged with the thread that shall not be named. I’d love to keep my Yaris come June but as I’d need a bit of finance to top up the balloon payment with current sporty 0% offerings and getting bored of the servicing costs and frequency I’m very tempted to move on.

The other car that shall not be mentioned is appealing, but even with 0% deals it's materially more money both on the monthlies and balloon payment.

My balloon on the Yaris is £15k, which I can refinance for £300pm @ 6.4% with First Direct, then refinance each time BoE drop interest rates, which will happen later this year.

Not much else out there I'd be happy to pay for right now.

Also wildcard... I reckon at TAS 2025 Toyota will announce the new MR2, with a G16E-GTS

Here they are IRL, the cars and the model this whole thread is a bout and the commotion that came with the launch of a replacement of the OG GR Yaris..

Is the newsflash over already 😃

Im just waiting to see what there new price will be here in Estonia, seems to be a bit of interest in the new model here.

anyone knows if the MK2 is to be produced at same Motomachi plant or to be transferred to another /satellite factory?
Considering that, now I would believe they have ironed-out most of (initial batches/Mk1) prod. processes...

Expecting it to continue at Motomachi alongside the Corolla.

February was showing as briefly suspended for the GR line.

yep will be interesting to see!
Another (neglected 😁 ) thing in that post are the Special Editions used.. which was heavily debated whether they would make it outside Japan 👍

The thing with special editions is that it will be impossible to get it probably, so why even bother. My country won't probably get any. And the Mk2 is looking to be pretty expensive as is. I was yesterday walking around some showrooms and 50k€ for a Yaris is quite absurd at this point when you can get a lot of the car for that amount. A 38-43k€ (mk1 at start and at end) was already pricy at that time, but I feel that a lot of cars went up with pricing in last few years, just not the sporty ones around same pricepoint. You can buy GR86 from Germany (sub 2000km) for 40k€ with import taxes and that's a lot to consider. It was an interesting proposition when these two cars shared same price, but now it seems Yaris will be 10.000€ pricier.

I'm still patiently waiting for Mk2 prices to be revealed in my country. I'm at the point where I can afford it, but it just doesn't seem appropriately priced.

Agreed. At a price point of 50K EUR some harsh competitors show up. I checked yesterday and for example you get an M2 Competition from 2021 with sub 20k KM for around 46-50K EU here in Germany. More hp, more interior, better in long distance riding/daily use.
But lets see what the prices are in Germany

That's true, but it is not the same driving experience either.

Yeah for me they are very different proposals. Honestly for me, if they were "the same", I wouldn't even consider the GRY, mk1 or mk2, rwd coupe lightweight or with muscle is so much more 'sports car' feelgood.

Indeed it is, if it wasn't probably nobody would be here. But currently you can get here a almost new Mk1 (January delivery, sub 500km) for 39500€. If I didn't wanted an Auto gearbox I would just ignore Mk2. I really hope prices here will be a bit less than those in France, but I doubt it.

One thing I'd like to see is how they solved the side where there is no transmission cooler on the manual. Still need some airflow yet don't want an obvious gaping hole...
Yeah, quite intrested how they’ve solved this. All the photos/videos are of the auto front end. Best guess is a blanking plate where the extra cooler would mount.

Yeah blankning plate with some holes maybe to keep the air curtain over the wheel is my best guess, still curious how it actually looks like...
