GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Guys, I saw a guy who used Android Auto or Apple CarPlay and using Google Maps he got pop-ups on the turn-by-turn dashboard, I didn't... but I have everything enabled in the pop-up settings... can anyone tell me if they get them and if they know how to do it?
 
Using Apple CarPlay with Apple Maps seems to show (mostly, not sure why it doesn't do it for every turn) turn-by-turn on the dash, I noticed using other apps like Waze and Google Maps it didn't show up.

It’s to do with a setting within the apps. Not sure why google don’t use it (waze owned by google)

One thing I didnt touch on in that video was that my transmission was about 3/4 of a qt low from the factory. I had rough drive/reverse engagements when cold. After this, those cleaned up, I know of another Corolla DAT owner that was also low. It may be with checking to see for Yaris owners as well.

I think that guy I saw was using Apple CarPlay and Google Maps... I don't know how to get them out... it's not serious, but it makes me curious
 
Hi guys, I can confirm that when I use google maps I have the direction info on main dash. I thought I've seen them before while using google maps, but I wasn't sure so I didnt want to spread misinfo and then I completely forgot about this discussion. While driving today I suddenly remembered this thread, directions are displayed on my dash me while using Google Maps. Currently on Iphone 17 (iOS 26.5.2), Google Maps version 26.28.0. No recent service/software updates of the car, last service was back in late February with included dash recall fix. No idea why it works for me.
