Yes i think so
I have an auto it hits 0I'm now asking, who has a mk2, especially an automatic... if it accelerates full gas in neutral... how high does the boost go?
thanks, now at least I'm calm that my car has nothing wrong with it and works well... I'm always paranoid when I buy a new carI have an auto it hits 0

Much better I'd say, it's one of the major improvements in Gen2, in my opinion. Is the manual gear change any better on the Gen2? I found the Gen1 too heavily weighted and imprecise
I didn't understandI could tell![]()
Very happy, I wouldnāt go back, itās very quick in sport mode and lazy when in normal/eco which is exactly what you want. Ive just done a 1,000 mile trip to the Nurburgring and back and it made the journey a breeze and then when on track still had the interaction of changing gears. How are owners finding the auto?
On paddles only will it auto shift up at the limiter? And will it kick down in manual? I've driven several VAG cars with DSG that say I'd want to short shift to 3rd for a corner exit as the road was wet to make it a bit easier and if it thought there was something to use in 2nd and you breathed on the kickdown switch it would kick down.Very happy, I wouldnāt go back, itās very quick in sport mode and lazy when in normal/eco which is exactly what you want. No it holds it up and down although after a decent period it does kick in an override and take over.On paddles only will it auto shift up at the limiter? And will it kick down in manual? Similar experience, love my auto version for daily driving.I am certainly not regretting having the auto though I cannot offer an opinion against any kind of test as to how long it will hold a gear or when it will change down under command. It is however a very good gearbox when compared to other offerings out there that despite where we are on the automotive evolutionary time scale are still poor - I found Audi's a few years back positively indecisive.
The GR auto doesn't leave you with any feeling that it isn't sure which gear to select or indeed when to select it, in fact I would suggest it does know how you wish to drive irrespective of drive mode and adjusts change point accordingly.
One niggle is that in full auto on normal, it doesn't want to select 8th on country lanes, but not sure that will bother most.
All that said I realise the manual will offer a driver engagement unparalleled.
I love the DSG, in everyday use it seems more intelligent than the DAT... I have only had automatics and I have tried various ones... but if you put the DAT in automatic and sport to go slowly... it is exceptional... in normal it clutches too often because it holds high gears at low speeds... but for more sporty use, the DAT is intelligent if you brake hard it changes down many gears etcI am certainly not regretting having the auto though I cannot offer an opinion against any kind of test as to how long it will hold a gear or when it will change down under command.
