Hello, @sessantanove, say hello to Switzerland on my behalf, I'm currently working hard to move back to your country soon.@markku
Have you heard anything yet? Has your MK2 already been loaded onto the ship?
Avete già saputo qualcosa? Il vostro MK2 è già stato caricato sulla nave?
I liked your optimism. Getting very close to the end of the month now hopefully something is imminent. Can’t quite believe I’m counting down the days to probably be told I won’t be getting oneEarly May I’d say is til next week.
Remember we are not waiting to enter the ballot in May but to find out the ballot process.I liked your optimism. Getting very close to the end of the month now hopefully something is imminent. Can’t quite believe I’m counting down the days to probably be told I won’t be getting onecertainly know how to keep you on the edge of your seat ay!?
I think I’ve come to the conclusion if I don’t get one of the first batch I’d rather save the extra cash and have a very low mileage mk 1 seeing as the prices seem to be lowering slowly. Albeit I suspect once Toyota announce how many will be available in the first batch the prices of the second hand ones will go up again.
Anyone else have any further thoughts?
If you look at the number of cars for sale, it’s gone from almost 200 on Autotrader to around 120 in the 6 weeks since the price was announced. I expect there will be some more demand for late MK1’s when it become obvious that most people after the new cars have a serious wait on their hands. I would expect this to ‘firm’ the prices of MK1’s for a while, possibly for a long time if demand so heavily out-strips demand for a brand new car. It’s still a car which takes a long time to produce so they can’t just suddenly increase production to meet demand.I liked your optimism. probably stupidly considering production for the UK should have already started I expected once they’d announced the process they’d want to get it underway quickly to take orders. Considering the long production time and shipping time as they’re expecting them to arrive September/October they’ll need orders pretty sharpish surely?Remember we are not waiting to enter the ballot in May but to find out the ballot process.

Given that the car manufacturers have to stay within total emission limits that will become more and more strict year after year, I guess that the Mk2 yearly batches will tend to shrink more and more in the future, at least until it will have a 100% ICE.Here’s the email wording:
“The purchasing ballot will be opening soon, if successful you'll have the chance to be one of the first to purchase New GR Yaris, with deliveries starting later this year. Further details on how to enter will be shared in May.”
With very few options I wouldn’t be surprised if they have ordered a range of colours and gearboxes with the ballot being something like 200 of each colour split 50/50 in gearboxes.
3 days and we might have more news…..
I wrote “of each colour” so that would be 1,000 cars. But it’s all guessing.About the UK, I'm guessing the numbers should be a bit higher than 200, because the UK has been a very welcoming market for the GR, or maybe the best one, and there still is a huge waitlist inherited from the Mk1 orders list.
In Italy there was no waitlist left for the Mk1, as far as I know, and we got 500 Mk2, so I think UK should get more than this.

Finland has half the population of Belgium, Belgium gets 1 Kalle editionOnly three Kalle editions to Finland so very very difficult to get item (they say they will run a lottery but I have my doubts)
And zero Thierry Neuville editionsFinland has half the population of Belgium, Belgium gets 1 Kalle edition![]()
Oh, but we got 30 Thierry Neuville editions of the i30NAnd zero Thierry Neuville editionsI mean, Kalle is a Finnish national treasure, can't compare like that

Sorry, I misread it... 1,000 is exactly my guess as well for the UKI wrote “of each colour” so that would be 1,000 cars. But it’s all guessing.
So….. I’m not sure how long the Toyota website has been updated for but I’ve just noticed they’re now listing specs/prices etc. couple things I’ve noticed ….. in the email to say there will be a ballot etc and there’s a picture of the GRY clearly in grey and it says in the small print model shown including optional metallic paint at £640 now on the website it states grey is a premium option as is pearl white and red at £920. With only black being a metallic £640 option.
Also as a side note I didn’t realise the SE’s were coming with premium sound system, heated steering wheel, blind spot monitor, and a bunch of other safety features but the standard one isn’t!? (which I’m sure some on here will be pleased about)
Toyota seems to be making it up as they go along again.
