it is possible to place a temp-sensor on top or on the bottom side of the big pipe

the new intercooler in place, in front of the condensor and oil cooler

If we take another look at the oil cooler pic we can see the added brackets for the crash beam, it is now moved forward to give room for the intercooler.

The horn and the outside temp-sensor had to be relocated, and some air ducts are also in place in order to lead the airflow through and not leak off on the sides of all the coolers. And the foam usually in front of the crashbeam has no longer room to be there, so it is not put back in place.

I'm very impressed with all of the work done and so is the mechanic himself, we'll see if the same mods show up on his own GR Yaris

I did some very simpel loggings when I installed the RaceChip last year, and now I did a follow up when the large intercooler is in place.
All of them are in 4th gear on the same stretch of road, going from 70-80km/h up to 7000rpm and logging 100-170km/h.

first the all -original, then with the RaceChip

and lastly with the intercooler

It's like a train now, I'm really looking forward to see how it works on the Nurburgring now

nice bump in performance. if I get extra funds at some point I'll also upgrade to Do88.

Christmas in the form of Black Friday is not too far away DO88 had quite a big discount last year.
I will have a downpipe on my wishlist


I forgot to show the added hood vents. The cheapest one's on Amazon, and I just ordered a spare set.

I haven't noticed more lag now, or maybe better said more lag yet.
But how many milli-sconds does it take for the turbo at 3-4k rpm to spool ~3-4 liter extra air? does someone have the facts to do the math?
