He's done a few installs for people on here. Can't compare him to anyone else, but seems to have done a good job for me.Thanks both.
I was hoping someone would mention Chris. He did my last car. Good to see the Ghost is working well on the GR.
Best of luck with that. Shame I'm not around this weekend, as we could have met up.I’ve been having issues with Ghost on my GR since September, BUT Chris is a true professional and has been great with getting it sorted. I’m heading back there at the weekend to have a final tweak to hopefully sort out the remaining issue.
He's had a problem with his battery draining.Chris also fitted mine.
Other than me putting the code in too fast it’s been fine.
MrJ, what issues you having ?
So what you're saying is that your car with Ghost is waking in the night, doing 'something' and then going back to sleep before dawn? There's humour in there somewhere.....Trying to keep a long story short, it’s been flattening my battery when not in use. We’re talking 3 days parked up and then not enough power to start, 5 days and doors wouldn’t even unlock. If Autowatch have checked my car and it was going to sleep ok, only thing it could be is somehow waking up in the night and draining.
Another car has exhibited the fault now, and there’s been swapping of Ghost devices between my car (71 plate), Chris’s, and the other one. Chris’s car (21 plate) has always been ok, flat batteries on the other two. Seems most likely to be that something’s changed at Toyota’s end, and I’m strongly suspecting it’s the SOS or data module or whatever it is we have in the car not playing nice.
A fix is now in place on mine, which I won’t detail here, but feel free to PM me if you want to know. Just have one more visit this weekend as it’s not been playing nice with the start/stop system. I definitely recommend Chris as an installer, he’s been testing everything out on his own car, and can’t really ask any more from him as it’s the worst kind of problem to troubleshoot. It would have been a lot easier if everyone had it.

You'd 100% already know if the battery drain issue was affecting you, as it's not subtle. After 1 day standing it'd start sluggishly, 2 just about turn over enough to start, 3 fail to start, and on day 4 my battery was down to 4VWhen I had mine installed the guy reckoned he'd do it an hour. Ended up being more like 3-4 hours. Some issue with it recognising the unit. Said he'd done 6 or 7 GR's when I asked. Got it sorted in the end. Mine has been faultless since installation.
Longest I've left it is about 3 days, just because I do use my car a fair bit. No problem at all. Stop/start no issue either.
Good newsJust back from a visit to Chris @ Immobiliser Direct, and after a long journey back home, *touch wood* all is well! Start/stop is behaving itself impeccably so no more fear of junctions and traffic lights. He’s been thoroughly testing the solution on his own car over the last few weeks, which is really reassuring.
It seems like Toyota have changed something in the software or electronic hardware somewhere around the 71 plate time, which doesn’t play nice, causing battery drain. If you’re at all concerned about this, then I’d go with Chris because you can be certain he’s worked through the solution on two cars so far.
