GR Yaris Forge Turbo Inlet Adaptor and carbon inlet duct - Gr Yaris

So installed the Forge Turbo Inlet Adaptor kit yesterday. FMTIA8
Instructions are pretty good link

Some added tips for smooth install:
- Get a second pair of hands to help. Preferably small hands.
- Have/burrow a good assortment of 7/10/12mm sockets with extensions, small ratchets, flex joints etc so you can find a tool that works. Just one type will leave you stranded if it doesn't fit, small spaces...
- Be sure to get the E8 torx socket, makes life easier.
- Get good lighting
- The intake goes under the vacuum line that goes from the solenoid at the top left of the engine, down to the rear of the engine to the waste gate actuator. I recommend to remove it from the solenoid end (wiggle it off), otherwise there is a risk when manoeuvring the turbo inlet piping in and out you pull it off from the WG actuator side which is a bit bigger pain to get back in place.
- You will reroute the vacuum line to mentioned solenoid from all the way to the back right to back left, be sure it cannot chafe on anything metal or sharp edges.

I did the install mostly from the top, and rest from the wheelwell opening where the steering rod goes (so right front wheel comes off). Moving the coolant tank out of the way is a very simple but very effective way to gain access from the top to the turbo inlet, which has to be my top tip. Just remove two 10mm screws and move it out of the way. On RHD there might be more stuff in the way, but works a charm on LHD.

As for the results, not much change in sound, just some added air rushing sounds when the recirc valve opens.

But noticeable better turbo pickup especially at low revs, it just spools quicker improving response. Similar effect as driving in 5-10ยฐC lower ambients.

Mine pulls loads better at bottom end very noticeable ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ

Loads is a matter of definition, but yes, drove about in 22ยฐC ambient yesterday and before I already clearly noticed a reduced eagerness and more boosty nature of the engine at such ambients, but not this time.

@Gazooracingyaris dropped a full second of his laptime (of to me unknown total length) by just mounting the scoop.

Less fan of the Carbon airbox, removes original filtering which was the USP for this solution for me, and the larger diameter at the MAF means power is gained by leaning out which is less ideal perhaps without logging.

getting the Airtec inlet hose today. from this angle it appears that turbo inlet pipe could be replaced from the top (which would be wonderful news).

If you can reach the nut to release the clamp - yes
 
in theory it could have been an easy install, but had to remove the fixed hose towards airbox as the rubber pipe fitting was so tight. so it took rather long. but now its there.
did not need to go under the car (except when lost a tool there)

Itโ€™s a bit off a fiddle round by the turbo,
But I have a 4 post ramp๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ
