i know this has probably been covered before but I was wondering how the fake engine noise that is piped into the cabin can be turned off; is it a coding issue or simply removing a fuse or some other way?

Same deal - tried it off and turned it back on again - with a stock car you struggle to hear the engine at all with it off!as others have put coding will solve it. Removing the stereo fuse will kill it if you want to check without it. I did about a week before putting it back on.
Swing by and I'll turn ESE off for you. We're only 5 mins from M18 jct 1. Message me if you want to arrange a visitThanks everybody, I'll give your ideas a try and see how I get on![]()

To be honest, the car is not fully run in yet so I'll wait until I can extend the engine a bit more to see how it sounds throughout the rev range.Sure, no probs.
These engines are built to such exacting standards and clearances, my advice is anything 100 miles plus and get the factory engine oil out, and a high quality 0W-20 GF-6A spec engine oil in......and away you go. This is what I did on my own GR Yaris, and what I've done for many customers. To be honest, the car is not fully run in yet so I'll wait until I can extend the engine a bit more to see how it sounds throughout the rev range.
