Just swap it to the otehr side, until the holes are equal again
Thankfully, it's not my car. Someone posted it on a GR86 Facebook group.Just swap it to the otehr side, until the holes are equal again
I assumed that, because the car on the pics is blue.Thankfully, it's not my car. Someone posted it on a GR86 Facebook group.
With some time on it, how do you like the AWE touring @Moonballs ?I have the AWE touring system installed, it's been a full day so i dont have good clips just yet
Some highlights from the installation are on my instagram, dicking about mostly.
Initial impressions
Its cold start is too loud if you have neighbours.
Perfect idle, no issues, same volume as stock just different tone.
Driving casually you now know you have an exhaust, its there, but not intrusive. Music playing on low and you don't notice it.
Put some power through and that tone takes on the volume, it's always personal preference but I love what it's producing.
I believe it does crack on downshift, but tested today at low speed and nothing, which is nice. High speed untested.
The cold start is the issue with this one, but I have noticed already that if I'm moving right away, the flow must become more consistent, which really helps bring it back to a reasonable level. I'll have to get some clips of this and confirm.
@chopper602 Ahh, there you are! I saw your Youtube video the other day and just had to leave a comment.Your Resonated Cobra sounds fantastic, a real 'classy' sports car tone! I had originally been dithering between the AWE (to noisy and expensive) and the Remark Axle-Back. The Remark was well ahead due to price and simplicity of fitting but, after finding a Youtube video with the owner commenting that there is definite drone and that you just need to live with it (because it's just a 'muffler delete') I scrubbed it off the list. I spoke to the guys at Cobra yesterday and the chap I spoke to was on the development team for the resonated version. He commented that the non-resonated can be felt vibrating through the floor a little when making progress, and that the resonated is far better for long journeys and has a less raspy tone.Made the trip over to RRG Toyota in Macclesfield (290 something round trip) to have the Cobra sport cat back exhaust fitted today and it sounds brilliant.

I'm just wondering if the OEM system will fit in the boot to get it home once it's removed? My local Cobra fitting centre is way over in Glasgow and I'd hate to have to leave my OEM kit there for future collection in my pickup!
No scuffed plastics or boot lip? I’ll maybe throw a quilt in there to be sureIt will fit
I have done it with mine.
The guys at Cobra wrapped the exhaust in Bubble wrap, so I had nothing to worry about. But I did Sheffield -> Liverpool -> Wales -> London with the Exhaust on the back and me and my partner at the front, we even managed to have 2 suitcases in the back alongside the exhaustNo scuffed plastics or boot lip? I’ll maybe throw a quilt in there to be sure![]()
I had mine fitted by RRG in Macclesfield and have left the OEM there, for future collection (no rush, it's on their shelving).@chopper602 Ahh, there you are! My thoughts too. I've sent their response to Cobra for comment as for a 'reseller' they didn't seem to get the part about it being a 2nd Cat-Back... 2-3 hours to remove and refit a catback seems crazy.... Think they might be trying to take the piss a bit, if I'm honest.
So no sign of cabin drone then, albeit at the lower rev ranges?Had my Cobra non res on now for approx 400 miles and no sign of an EML... Am loving the improvement in sound, although wouldn’t call it loud..
Not that I’ve noticed, in fact I sometimes have to remind myself it’s got a sport system on. Definately not intrusive. Although I’m sort of hoping that all changes when we start exploring the higher end of the rev rangeSo no sign of cabin drone then, albeit at the lower rev ranges?
No EML and it was fitted within about 45 minutes (on a four post lift). No idea on the labour charged, as the exhaust was sold inc. fitting.@chopper602 Did you have any issues with an EML after the exhaust was fitted? The local EcoTune place in Glasgow said that fitting the non-resonated Cat-Back System might bring up an EML and would require a tune after fitting. They also said removal of the OEM parts and fitting the Cobra would be 2-3 hours!?
One more question - Now that you've done some miles, is the Resonated system loud enough for you or do you hanker for a bit more noise that the non-resonated system gives? I'm still on the fence between the two (Youtube sound isn't great for judging exhaust tones really)... TIA![]()
