GR86 Exhausts

For those of you who have gone to see a demo car, what were your thoughts on the stock exhaust?
I thought it sounded much better in person than on any YouTube video I've watched.

I'm not as rushed to swap it out now, until I hear someone else's 😂

I thought it sounded good, not sure how much of that was the sound generator though 🤷🏻‍♂️

Exhaust before Christmas but was end of November, matching up with the car constant slip 😂

I might do if I can be bothered! Or it'll just pop up in the for sale section........

Awesome stuff, I was ready to import myself from the US so thanks for tracking that down. I won't be purchasing till jan/feb however, wallet is on life support at the moment.
 
Still sounds a bit on the loud side to me. I'll pass for now. Think I'm going to have to wait for the opportunity to hear some exhausts in person.
 
I'm gonna hold off the AWE exhuast, as at some point I would like a UEL Manifold for the boxer rumble (WRC Imprezas have ruined me growing up 😅) and with one and the exhuast will be way too loud. But am very curious to see how loud it will be all standard with GPF.

To be fair, I sold you a Q300 and that was quiet! So yeah the AWE is way louder haha :p

True. Although I think the Q300 would have been fine if I'd had the stock front pipe just to tone it down a bit.
At the time I had an Ace CS400 header and Cobra sports cat front pipe.
 
Has anyone had a good look to see if a standard aftermarket exhaust will fit or if the gpf means they need to be different yet?
 
The Milltek GR catback is exactly the same as the GT. Same part numbers, different EC approval. Installing mine last week of December probably.

Toyota dealer I test drove with said that the warranty would be cancelled for all exhaust adaptions and any ECU code breaking.

i’d be clarifying that before you do 👍
 
So when RRG are putting a Cobra on the demo, that invalidates the warranty too. So if you get it done through them, do they honour the warranty themselves or is it like it's always been and pay to play? If you mod, it's on you to fix things if it goes wrong.
 
ECU I can understand, but exhaust? Sure hope my dealer doesn't misuse this to deny a possible warranty claim...

EDIT: Quick Google search, seems like they can't deny a claim unless they can prove the exhaust is the cause of the defect. So unlikely to cause problems. I won't change the ECU within warranty (I'd love to someday program out the cold start though).

Anyone taken the plunge yet installing a different exhaust?

Also worth checking out the Gen.2 Borla S-Type, sounds perfect in my opinion.
 
Still waiting for my APEXi definitely going on, standard exhaust noise is virtually non existent.
