The last one had the revised flexi on it but still cracked. I loved how it sounded, at least until it cracked after 20K miles or so. This is why RRG Macc' won't stock Milltek.

I hope they fixed that after 10 years 🤔
 
Saw this on FB. Don't know his reason but some might rethink their decision to cut up the factory exhaust and take out the resonator as a cheap way to increase volume.

A resonator filters out frequencies and removes unpleasant noises and buzzes so I bet it increases volume in a bad way without making it sound nicer.

It also reduces spikes in pressure (what is physical definition of "noise") that may reduce power.

In advance of my APEXi exhaust coming thought I'd do some measurements on the stock exhaust. Hopefully of use to others.

Sounds alright when being given the beans but far to quiet for me overall.

Goal for me is close to normal track db limit and sounds good like an actual sports car.

Goodwood is 98 @ 3/4 Revs 0.5m most others are the same.

I have some videos as well but not sure I can be bothered to edit them down.

Are the cabin measurements with ASC on or off?

Will be great getting to hear it in person at Japfest, the APEXi is on my shortlist :)

Thanks for the measurements, I am interested.

Going to place my order for mine soon... and still questioning which one. I think I'm going to go with my gut and go for the more asbo one haha and regret my decision later maybe?
 
Installed the Milltek non-res yesterday. Cold start sound is actually amazing, not too loud. It quiets down after 30 sec and even in a closed garage it's almost silent at idle. Very happy I went non-res. At load it sounds very good outside, deep and muscly. On the inside it's not as good but still a huge improvement. Almost sounds like the ASC so that was well recorded by Toyota. There's some bangs when rev matching, not so much on throttle liftoff (might change still?)

Sound clips when I see some daylight out of the office again, hopefully this weekend.

Sorry I have to adjust my opinion already, cold start is loud as hell in the morning. It must still have been semi-warm when I started the car yesterday evening after installation.
Sorry neighbors, but it's for the environment...
