GR Yaris Evo group test: Yaris / M4 / RS3 / 992 Turbo S

Some awesome photos in there. I have the one of the Yaris jumping from Evo but cool if some of these were for sale too! My parents live near that road so excited to drive it again tomorrow.

I was quite astounded by it today - within speed limits, you can just carry so much more speed into the corners and I caught up with so many (albeit non 992) cars by just slowly reeling them in over a twisty section. I let them pull away on the straights (maybe they checked their mirrors and floored it), but as soon I was into the next set of tight corners I was back behind them. It’s awesome.

Tbh I’m now old enough and boring enough to not be bothered with chasing after other people (like I used to be 🤣), but I am constantly amazed how rapidly this car can cover ground in really grim conditions. In fact, the sound of heavy rain gives me a Pavlov’s Yaris response where I involuntarily start looking for the car keys.
 
It’s more satisfying than flooring it and braking heavily too. That can be fun at times but carrying speed is more skilful and fun when it clicks.
 
Totally agree, not only does it feel super fast whatever the weather but it also feeds back so we'll and is super engaging. The steering is way better than it has a right to be; a superbly engineered machine for drivers by drivers (TM).
 
The big fat ugly t**t of a BMW with 130 kg extra mass and 140bhp less feels as quick as the Turbo S, Hmmmm…if you say so.

Yeah, it’s not like they go around saying stuff like “RS GT3 911” or “Pista 488”, is it?
