The Hyundai Ioniq 5N has my interest. Well received for driving even from pretty hardcore driving enthusiasts.I imagine we will see a Model 2 Performance built out on the new Tesla platform within the next 3 years. I imagine it'll be Golf sized.
The big thing for me is whether the cars built on the new Tesla platform will be like the Cybertruck.
What do I mean?
The Cybertruck is 100% drive by wire. The steering wheel is not connected to the front wheels by a steering column.
I'm not sure I'd want that.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5N has my interest.
I watched the Chris Harris review the other day, ditto the Larry Chen review, both at Sydney Motorsports Park.
Both seemed to like it alot, although at least Harris was able to keep it on the tarmac!

The way it handles looks just monstrously heavy![]()
It's roomier than an RS7, has the same weight(!!), is as fast and cost roughly half. That's a win for me. But personally more interested in lighter cars indeed. The way it handles looks just monstrously heavy![]()
Exactly this.Saw an article on Autocar today a review of the new electric MINI countryman which I took a quick skip read of. We now have a 2 tonne MINI! Yes 2000kg for a MINI. Some other highlights include 309bhp, the reviewer bemoaning the lack of performance, quote: Pleasant interior and sense of fun help to overcome unremarkable performance and range (I don't call 0-60 in 5 and half seconds lacking FFS what are these people thinking? An E36 BMW M3 Evo, I had one, was only 5.2s back in the day, doubt any reviewers of that said it was shite) and a £50k price tag.
I see the chancellors budget has come in for criticism for not incentivising the purchase of EV's. Good. Stop wasting my tax money by bribing the well off to have a nice new £50k/60k/80k++ plus car on their driveway, spend it on the NHS/police or something but don't use it to prop up foreign company profits! Rant over.

The Rivian R3X Is An Electric Rally Car You'll Want To Buy - Jalopnik
We all knew Rivian would be unveiling its all-new, smaller, R2 SUV at a press conference Thursday, but what we didn’t know is that it would be just a third of what was getting shown to the audience. Along with the R2, we also got a look at the even smaller R3 and sportier R3X which is about five...jalopnik.com
I'm sure the designer has been a fan of the Little Mole
Looking forward to see what it and the likes can do on a rally road...
in pictures that car looks compact but IRL its quite big. prblem with new cars in general
...and maybe went completely mad by installing rear disk brakes!! (watch out for VW ID's when stepping into a crosswalk...)Rivian made a better looking Volkswagen EV than Volkswagen have been able to. Probably a better car than anything in the VW ID range too.
