Well folks I jumped in . Having reached eighty years old and five years in to driving probably the best car I have ever owned I decided I need more oomph in my twilight years !! I have read the GR blogs from day one in 2021 and after much thought decided to go with Litchfield ECU upgrades . I used their web site to get a ECUtek upgrade and after minor internet shenanigans during which the Commonwealth Bank shut Down my accounts because without consulting me they decided I had been scammed !! Several phone calls over hours of my time
Left On Gods earth I got them to send the required money !! Who says Big Brother is not here !!
The appropriate OBD dongle arrived and I contacted Litchfield to begin . I was fortunate enough to be handed to Iain Litchfield who when he had returned from a trip to the Nurburgring was instrumental in handling my tweaking . I endeavoured to follow his instructions and had the initial upgrade to Stage One and three revisions to refine the tune . To say I am happy is an understatement !! The Bella machina has more oomph and a nice dollop of mid range torque .
I had the order of range
Reversed so it defaults to Normal and I can select more go as needed . This is because
Of my teaching the grandchildren to drive a manual!
My Thanks to Iain Litchfield and his team , I consider the money well spent and the personal service exceptional . Drive on folks!’

I was gonna ask how come you opted not to get it on the dyno but then I noticed the flag, bit of a long drive that, I had my upgrades and tuning done at Litchfield and they were great 👍

You found the map poor or the delays between revisions?
The map was good, eventually, but the journey there was poor. Over 4 months in total and several times I had to request updates to find out what was going on. In the end, there was some issue with boost fluctuation which he couldn't figure out and meant "going to need to see the car" because "don’t have these kind of boost control issues with any of the GR Yaris’s we are tuning each day".

So after booking a couple days off work and a hotel plus over 200 miles journey it turned out I wasn't even booked-in when I arrived, I was just passed to their chief mapper who flashed a map and gave me the car back early morning with no boost issues! He said that was the throttle opening and closing for some reason that wasn't really clear. So a complete waste of money and time off work. The next week my mate goes down to them and turns up with the exact same boost/throttle issues, but that's a whole other story.

I had a mapping session done with Litchfield across a few months and it was far from great I'm afraid to say
Yep! No sh1t mate.

Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole after my "experience"

From disgusting treatment, total negligence, compulsive lying, bad advice, bad workmanship and a warranty that isnt worth the paper it's written on. I could go on and on with the 100% truth as to what happened (and as you know, I will one day believe me)... just be very careful people. My pride and joy is wrecked because of them!

Just to say... Sorry to moan on your happy thread mate. If you want it deleted just say. I'll do my own thread one day. Just making people aware of the Other side of it and how companies are only as good as how they deal with situations when something goes wrong. I've totally lost faith it that company and never want them anywhere near my car again!
