Hi everyone,
For information. I get an email today from shiftech belgium. It says, they are able to tune the GR. Stage 1 : +40 hp and 70 nm.
Price : 690 euros.

The stock ECU can indeed be tuned now. Our calibrations for the GR will start from £495 Inc VAT for Stage 1 using the stock ECU with no hardware changes required, custom tuned on our 4WD Mechanically Linked Dyno. Please contact us via our Facebook page if you're interested.

This is brilliant timing. I was going to get a stage2 tuning box at next pay day as I thought the ECU might never be cracked. I'll hold off and see what comes of this - exciting times!

Not really. The Dtuk box is just fooling the ecu and is not the safest way to tune an engine. A proper remap should be safer and better. You void your warranty by doing either IF Toyota know about it.

In the past I've always remapped used cars I've had.
In the event of a failure you can always plead ignorance and say it's how it always was and may have been done by a previous owner.
For my beloved GR I will tread a bit more carefully.

I have just had a horrifying thought, now that the ECU has finally been cracked. Does this mean certain youtubers will now have access to "pop and bang" and "crackle" maps? *shudders* 
Litchfield haven’t cracked it auto tuner have and Litchfield will use their kit. What Litchfield as with all others will be able to do is create a map bespoke to them.
Neither of it. But they have to take the ECU out of the car.
That‘s why it‘s called Bench Tuning.

I'd hold on a while. If they have cracked the code for the ECU, it shouldn't be long before they can tune in situ and under load.
