Hey Guys,
here in Germany we never had the opportunity to buy the Brembo Big Brake Kit as an upgrade or order the car with that from factory. But i got the chance to buy the BBK here, but i did´nt get any papers or documents with that – just the price was too good. Our laws are very strict, when it comes to car parts, so i try to proof now, that the Brembos are an OEM Option from Toyota in Japan and the US (don´t know UK?) and that the car doesn´t need any software update (for ESP for example like you need for some BMWs). Does any one of you have any documents of your retrofitted Brembo 4 pistons Big Brake Kit and can help me out with a copy of some original Toyota documents? I.e. installation Guidelines etc.

That could help me and others a lot getting these brakes street legal here in Germany. Thanks!

Hi Michael,

Like the rest of the Europe we never received the Brembo brake setup as an option here in the UK. It was available as a factory fitted option on the previous generation as part of the Performance Pack, however that’s not going to help you as it’s a different car,

You may be better off asking the American guys over on GR86.org since this option is fitted to the Trueno and Hakone edition cars.

Being a factory fit option is a problem, it has never been sold as a bolt on kit so you may struggle. You will have more luck if you used the TRD GR Monoblock kit instead of the Brembo. Since this kit is a retrospective bolt on, as opposed to a factory fitment, there is more supporting documentation and it can be more easily proven that it has been supplied by TRD/Toyota and designed specifically for the GR86.
