GR86 Do you set the rev beep to sound?

For those with run in engines after 1k, do you still have the engine beep sound on at certain rpm or turn it off completely?

If you scroll through the vehicle settings on the dash you should find it, can't remember what it's called, but it is there somewhere.

I just found it annoying so turned the beep off.

I set the flashing rev counter to 6800rpm so I change gear as soon as it starts flashing.

I've turned it off completely, but it makes sense to have it set around 7k, before you hit the limiter.

I tried it at 7.2k but I quickly adjusted to 7k to allow a bit of leeway before - there's no other way to describe it - frankly walloping into that really rather aggressive limiter.

I've encountered the limiter once, and I never want to again thank you.

I hit the limiter once in my GT86, mid overtake, I think it's basically a fuel cut. It was like throwing an anchor out the window. Assume it's the same in this car. If you have the car remapped it can be changed to a soft limiter though (so it will just bounce off the limiter repeatedly).

Yes I too mostly change up around 6k generally.

It's pleasing how, when compared with the GT86, there's so much more mid-range grunt to allow for this, whilst at the same time being far more enjoyable to rev up to 7k+ (with the caveat of the rather abrupt limiter).

And the engine is getting nicer with each and every mile.

That's a fair comment, and this engine definitely doesn't make me chase the redline like my old Honda VTEC engines did.

Yeah, that's where it "feels" right to shift up to me, generally.

6K for me, no reason other than the yellow and red bars are then the same size
