Anybody know how? its not something i want to have on all the time

This it?

On the Yaris I'm now used to holding the lock button on the key and pressing unlock twice at the same time to disable it.

Tried those methods but with no luck so far, will keep searching

Decent, that's the same as the Yaris, almost 2nd nature now (y)

Yeah it basically turns the key off so you have to press the unlock button to wake it all back up again and get in to the car.

In a video about the infotainment and menu options, disabling keyless was an option. It was a US car if it makes any difference.
Edit: the options might have only been for audio feedback

Tried all of above but still not able to disable mine !!

The key disable worked for me, annoying its not a permanent solution though

Wonder why what's shown in the manual on page 114 isn't working. I definitely want to disable keyless entry, will be inconvenient to mess around with the key each time - particularly as I know my wife won't bother!

definately a country thing, if you open the door and flick the lock switch on a rhd uk car it unlocks itself straight away

I see, that's annoying. Hopefully there is a way to do it somehow...

So is disabling keyless entry an option - anyone able to confirm?

Or is the only option putting the key to sleep?

if it can be done its a coding job, putting the key to sleep is the only easy option

Yep, tried the methods in the manual, but none of that worked. Surely, the cars will be updated at some point to disable this as per the manual...

Will stick with putting the key to sleep for now.

Has anyone figured out a permanent way to disable it from the car's end? There are too many car thieves in my area...
