Has anyone experienced differences between the initial batch and final batch cars? While looking to buy, I recently drove one of the last delivered (Dec 2023) cars, having previously driven a first batch. The earlier car felt different, had a lighter, more sensitive throttle, lighter clutch, and lighter steering. No mods by previous owners. Later car had a few thousand more miles. Of course, could be just tolerances, but felt the differences. Were any software or other changes made to later UK cars? Thanks.

In short there are no noted differences between the batches for us. It’s not particularly clear as Toyota GB don’t know and its lunatics like me who search google Japan to find out but in the UK we only received the ‘Type B’ model run.

Type A
Initial release until May 2022

Type B
May 2022- Sept 2023

Type C
Sept 2023 – July 2024

Type D
July 2024- present

The Type C cars were the ones that started to introduce changes, eyesight was fitted onto the manual cars and had a more linear throttle map, the type D had another throttle map, ditched the non latching indicators stalks, electric steering changes, and had a different damper setup.

The only difference that’s been picked up over here is a handful of the very first cars into the UK had the radio volume control knob on the right hand side, the rest had moved over to the left.

Wish we'd got the Type D. Better throttle and steering maps would be welcome, but I also find the non-latching indicator bloody annoying sometimes.

I'd take a compulsory drill to the temple to avoid a car with eyesight though

tbh as long as you indicate to change lanes eyesight is absolutely fine, think the auto braking even saved me from a bump last week
