Hello , I also took advantage of the sale at Collins to buy their torque mount. I drove the car 5000klm with the stock mount, continually wondering why it was so hard to get into 2nd....
- 5000klm installed yellow powerflex and it was a big improvement over stock Toyota, all the slop is gone.
- 14000 klm installed Collins a tiny improvement over stock Toyota arm bushing+ powerflex. Feels nice and straight with 0 slop from 1st to 2nd. not a massive improvement over powerflex but still noticeable... My reason for the install is the powerflex insert is a neat idea but to me its a cheap band-aid solution, jamming stuff inside holes, just my opinion...
Can confirm also that there is no noise or vibration with the Blue collins poly, absolutely no noise or vibration difference compared with the yellow powerflex. I'm very happy with the Blue bushing not to hard not so soft, no increase in vibration, perfect. The idea is to not go so hard with the bushing that you destroy the ride of the car and if you make one bushing without any flex then its just further up the line that will take the punishment and wear out faster (motor mounts etc). The idea of any mount is to absorb movement unless you actually race the car and want to be punished :)

In addition -
Attached are some photos of my powerflex bushing after approx 10,000klm, that's not dirt all over the yellow, its worn down friction dust from yellow jammed into black and friction heat deformation on the insert.
On really close inspection using a zoom all the black areas on the powerflex are high friction points between powerflex and Toyota original. The Toyota bushing is also shiny and clean in the high friction points. To be expected but this confirms my thoughts that the powerflex insert is just a band-aid solution. Not a bad solution and its cheap to buy and fast to install but it wont last.

- I'm one of those that is on the fence re whether the stock Toyota mount is actually broken, agreed its to soft from factory but any GR2 owners taken it out yet to look. I never noticed any forum threads indicating Toyota was doing a mass warranty replacement on the original torque mount... photo attached with massive gap, it just doesnt look right but I cant believe Toyota would engineer something so weird to allow that movement. The last photo super zoom really shows the tear, its not a clean mold/line from factory.

Wonder why collins torque recommendations for assembly are so low?

Tightening Torques (ref.)
100 nm 1 x Bolt Mount to subframe/chassis
95 nm 1 x Bolt Mount to bracket
60 nm 4 x bolts bracket to gearbox

Toyota (ref.)
90119-16023 x1--> 200 Nm
90105-16097 x1 -->170 Nm
90119-10996 x4 -->44 Nm

I can't find those numbers mentioned anywhere on their site.

It's definitely not attached, this is a new one I had under warranty, it was a little embarrassing as I believed like you why would Toyota engineer it this way but it seems they do.

ordered the collins mount as its for sale for good price atm.
interesting to see the difference, although my current gear change is quite ok. just thought the yellow powerlfex inserts will loose their game at some point.

ordered one also, I have the powerflex insert which definitely was an improvement, but as the collins mount has received good feedback and seems a more permanent solution than the insert, it was hard to say no to that offer
