GR Yaris Clutches

Kind of wish I knew the organic clutch was updated for the GRY. Sounds like it's Daily driver perfect. Well, At least I know the ceramic version can take a 5000 rpm side step, will see how it's goes in stop start traffic.
 
Anybody tried or have info about the GRMN uprated clutch ?
 
It looks similar to the Excedy 3 puck Ceramic clutch. Will be very 'grabby' I expect.
 
Drove 50 miles on the new Uniclutch sport today. So relieved, it's just as easy to drive as stock. Need to do another 250 miles of city type driving then I can turn up the boost on the Artec.
 
Garage Whifbitz in Wales did the clutch. It's the Race not the sport sorry. I had a new turbo, hoses, mounts and MK2 lights fitted at the same time so it's hard to say what the clutch alone was for labour cost.
 
I've finished the bed in procedure and started remote tuning. Pros: now genuinely feels better to drive than OEM clutch. Engagement is more positive and lower in the pedal travel. Cons: there is some increased clatter at idle. When stopped in traffic with stop/start kicking in and out there is audible clatter/chatter.
 
Stop & Start is a quiet engine & battery killer... Stop using it, Start being old-style !

How did the Artec work out? Does it spool like OEM? Secondly did you go forged internals or stay OEM? I want to go down the Artec route for my road car but I am hear differing opinions on the necessity of forged internals on a road application. It will be a road car so it needs to be nice and usable.
 
17k miles of road use. 10k worth tuned. Little point doing 5000+ rpm launches as it didn't hold.

The strategy is running low boost on stock block. I'm on revision 4 of the remote tune currently, boost is capped at 22psi to keep the torque below 500nm limit of the gearbox also. Theoretically there is less heat and back pressure stress on the engine running a bigger turbo at lower boost Vs maxed out OE turbo.

Having done it would you recommend this as the way forwards? Other than putting in some EZ cams I am as far as I can go really. Mine is fine for a daily but the clutch is already past its limit. I don’t really launch it but when I did try it the clutch just slipped in 1st/2nd and then I got out of it and did not do it again. Did Litchfield do yours? Much difference in how it drives?

Really must feel that flat torque, surprised that the power does not drop off. I assume they must be running cams or at least valve springs
 
Once the tune is complete I expect to be at 390-395hp at the crank. Then I will need to get performance data to be sure this approach has worked out. I recommend the UniClutch so far, no issues with it and it drives as easy as an OE organic clutch. Work was performed by Whifbitz who are considering stocking them after driving mine.
