There are cat options ... Hjs e.g. but are there any opf options already?

For me, cat or opf is not the main problem. The reduction to 60mm diameter is the point where you loose power. So take the original opf and put it into a 76mm pipe would be a good option. But in germany it's as illegal as removing the opf.

So hjs is a good start, but the 60mm exit of the hjs is a dealbreaker :(

I think HJS tried with an aftermarket OPF and found the stock one wasn't that bad. Theoretically it is possible to have two stock GPF in parallel or bigger GPF for a high power and TüV approved build, question is if there is a (probably German) tuner willing to put in the work. Maybe ABT?

So this thread was a bit of a ride.

Just to say my intention is not to shame people, judging from appearances or to be black and white dealing in absolutes.

Rather the opposite I wanted to bring balance in the discussion, having read and learned from car forums over many years, my impression has often been that emission control is mostly seen as a bad thing by many in the car enthusiast world and something to get rid of without second thought.

So I just wanted to highlight the other side of the coin, it even benefits our own health, and I also believe that enjoying our cars responsibility will help preserve the little driving freedoms that remain a bit longer at least.

Something like that.

PS: if it seems odd I spent energy on this, well I'm recovering from Covid and GRY topics are my main intellectual 'joy' :geek:
