GR86 Calling all owners in the South

Going a bit off topic but I have only definitely seen one other in the wild and that was a black one and it was difficult to spot since it kind of blended into the all the other black/grey silver cars out there, I had to do a double take to make sure it was a GR86 and I know what I am looking for, 99% of everyone else out there would probably miss it (and think ooh yes a new Supra )

Me too, I work in Bracknell a few days a week and still not seen another GR86 in the wild so would be fun to see a few together! Mine is Smurf blue though!

In 6 months I have only seen 2 x GR86s in Bracknell. I understood 15 were ordered from Toyota Bracknell so hoping to see a few more.

Reading / Bracknell definitely feels like the most densely populated area going by the active owners on this forum but I'm yet to see another out and about

I picked mine up from Bracknell, I live in Cippenham & work the other side of Heathrow, I have only seen one other Gr86 since March & that was an electric blue in Slough about a month ago.

A work colleague was at a go kart track in Farnborough this week & sent me a picture of a red GR parked up in the car park

Wow, what a busy day. I visited six GR86’s and test drove one in the last 24hrs. I think I’ve driven over 200 miles in the blazing sunshine on my tour today, so I’m shattered. Massive thanks to the community, and everyone who offered to let me see their cars at short notice, especially those I met: Owen (Silver), Alex (Magnetite) and Ash (Saphire) and a few dealers. You helped me make a difficult decision! I think all colours look great, however I’ve just placed my order for a Magnetite Grey. Thanks All!

Im in Fleet, Silver (ducktail being fitted today!), I did see a red one drive through Fleet the other week, I thought it was a 22 plate which would make it one of the press/TUK cars but I cant be 100%!

I’ve gone for a black one but I saw a photo of a silver one on another thread and it looks rather smart, can anyone with a silver one put up a photo please? And maybe a black one too The silver looks good with the contrasting black wheels.

If no-one posts any, there are plenty of pictures of silver on Google Images. I liked the silver; my main reason for going with a darker colour is underlying plastic is black, so when you get chips I think they will be more obvious on lighter colours.

I like black cars (my GT is black) however it takes a lot of care / maintenance to keep it looking good (paint correction every 20k). I’m not sure how I feel about the black wheels against the black bodywork; they contrast better against silver.

I went for Magnetite as that felt like the best compromise and to my eyes it looked good in person.

Thanks, I’ll do a search. Those were my thoughts too, a black car with black wheels may look too much black.
I like the Magnetite too, but the car I’ll be selling is a similar colour and so is my other half’s so I need a change really.

Yes, for sure. It was always going to be the colour for me after going through the colours on YouTube and gr86.org. I liked the sapphire blue, especially after seeing a few nicely polished ones, but ultimately didn't want blue as that's what I had on my last car.

That’s the reason I went with Sapphire Blue, didn’t want Silver as that was my last cars colour. Thankfully all the colours look good, so you can’t really go wrong with any of them (really glad I went with the Sapphire Blue still though).

I think it was you I bumped into outside Morrisons whilst I was walking to Bracknell Station having left my car at work. Couldn’t stop to chat for long or I would have missed my train.

I am normally in Bracknell on Wednesdays and Thursdays so a Wednesday evening meet anywhere round Reading fo all the locals and visitors would work for me?
